Hey everyone,
I saw a musician named Tobin Sprout play last night and he and the guitar player in his band both played old Premier amplifiers. They looked and sounded amazing (they were clearly made in the 50's). Very unique looking.
I was wondering if anyone here has played one of these and had anything to say about them. I think they sounded kinda like a Fender tweed? One guitarist was using a Jazzmaster and Tobin played a Tele. Anyway...really cool amps!

Re: Premier amplifier
Don't know Premier amps, but Tobin Sprout. Is he still playing the cream/white tele?

Yes as far I could tell it was the same guitar I've always seen him play. He sang and played really, really well. His backing band was a band called the Fuzzrites (at least I recognized the guitar player). They were great.

Re: Premier amplifier
I had a premier tube reverb tank years. Ran it in front of a Marshall 50 watt mkII. It was my sound and it had a good natural overdrive when pushed. Really overlooked tube reverb units. I've noticed they have gone up in years in terms of price. I would buy one again if I could afford one

I'm pretty sure the guitar player for Toby was using one as well. It sounded great, and he was playing a Jazzmaster. I was in heaven.Redstar30 wrote:I had a premier tube reverb tank years. Greg Cartwright of the Reigning Sound/Oblivians/Tip Tops/Compulsive Gamblers also uses them a lot.
