So, not a fender amp but in a week or so I'm going to check out a Peavey Heritage VTX combo. Stumbled upon it whilst surfing gumtree and it looks in great condition, and the guy's thrown in a squier strat with MIM pickups. The lot is £250 and from the demos I've heard it sounds really good, sort of similar to a Music Man HD130.
Anything to look out for when I check it?

Could be a good deal, it is a USA Amp...

Don't know much about this one but the Peavey 30's I've heard sounded like they could be much better with a Tube & Speaker upgrade... Most Amps come with cheap crap Tubes & an upgrade can do wonders. JJ's or better. You can always upgrade the Speaker to something like a Celestion Greenback or Alnico Blue Speaker.... It could be a Great Amp!

You could sell the Strat to help pay for upgrades...

Yeah, I was hoping to just keep the strat just to have one around and just for different tunings.

+100 on the Bassbreakers. I'm using thr 45 watt head as a bass amp in a loud punk band. The smaller versions, if price allows would probably fit the bill. I lnow they all soind different but the few I tried always had great tones on tap....
The fact that Chelsea Wolfe uses Bassbreakers live blows my mind. Granted I assume you aren't about to get massive doom tones from a 007 but it's still a pretty ringing endorsement.
