Hello,
I just replaced the filter caps on my Velocette, as the amp had become noisy. When doing so, I noticed that one 10uf capacitor (C24 on the schematics) was missing.
There is solder on the PCB where it should have been, so it's unlikely that the amp went out of the factory without the cap. I've owned this amp for about 12 years and it always performed great. It was serviced by my tech 6 years ago also.
Can anyone explain what that cap does, and if it's safe to use the amp without it?
Many thanks!

Re: Trace Elliot Velocette missing capacitor
Just a guess: It blocks a loud pop when you turn the standby switch on and off.
Anyway, if it worked fine without the cap, i wouldn't care too much about it.

Thanks! I think you're right. There's indeed a pop when switching.
