Hey there,

tho it been a while with this thing. I acquired it around 7 month ago and wanted to share it with you people of the Internet.
This is an nearly not modified Fenton Weill Cadet from 1963. The Baffle has been changed to a more sleek one, looks good and sounds fine.
It is a 5 Watt true tube powered Amp.

"As the Cadet is almost identical to the Selmer Futurama Corvette, it is assumed that it was produced during the same time-frame, i.e. late 1963 to late 1964.

Valve line-up 2 x ECC83, 1 x EL84 and 1 x EZ80. "

It sounds huge! Need to record it at a proper volume. Awesome fine, if you can get into one of these than try it!
For home use it sounds perfect Volume&Tone. I tried to play it in my band project, but its too quiet for that.
Cant find a solution atm for that.. Thought about many ways, but yeah..

This is really cool! Congratulations! What does it sound like? Can you compare it to any other amp that those of us on the far side of Atlantic might have heard? Selmers are pretty rare here, too.

Ive had a Fender Vibro Champ and compared to my memories, i think that this Cadet-Amp sounds kind of similar. Maybe a little bit less quality and boxy. It sounds a little bit more compressed and heavier in terms of gain. Maybe it feels more Rock, like a supro/airline/gibson small powered Amp. I mean Selmers are really rare here in Germany/EU, too.

It is an incredible small amp!

Someone else explained it like: "A British-made Fenton Weill Cadet valve (tube) amp for sale in good cosmetic condition and superb working order. It sounds great, has just been serviced and is working perfectly - a great little amp and a joy to play through - does really good low-volume warm fuzzy overdriven sounds well: great little blues amp. Dating from around 1963, this amp is in good cosmetic condition, especially for something now over 50 years old; there are signs of wear for sure, rust on some screws, but nothing that detracts from the look or functioning of the amp (please see the detailed photos).
These little amps represent great value: a true hand-built valve-rectified vintage amp with 6w output that makes it perfect for recording or home playing. Mic it up and be amazed at how great it sounds.
This is pretty much the same circuit/amp as the Selmer/Futurama Corvette."

Hey guys,

ive got a question about this particular amp.
I need a way to get the signal of my fenton weill on drum-level.

My Plan is to use the signal that comes straight before the speaker -> level -> cab and pa
How can this be done? When Micing it like in a gig-moment its too quiet for me to hear.

Its like a chamber that cant be done, right? :w00t: :w00t: :w00t:

Hope anybody gets my idea.
Btw. a friend of mine said that it sounds quiet near to that fender vaporizer.
But thats not as close..

love,
Pad.

would something like this help?

https://www.suhr.com/electronics/tone-t ... -line-out/

It allows you to run your amp as normal and gives you a line out you could run to a PA ( I think)

You might have to solder connections to the existing speaker cable if it is hardwired though.

I already made solder connections before the speaker, to plug it to a normal guitarplug.
im not sure... could i route that signal to a guitar cab and get drum level basically?
Somehow id like to avoid PA in general, because that means for me that my "sound" lays in somebodys hands.
But, like im not decided.. :S

It looks to be really close to what im searching for, even tho 210€ is quiet something..

now the idea is more like:

Guitar Amp Signal before Speaker ->
Level ->
Guitar Cab with more output (for me as monitor + stage Sound lvl) ->
Mic ->
PA

Badcat unleash or something similar might fit the bill.

If you don’t need attenuation the Two Notes Torpedo Captor or Captor X might do the trick.

Even if you’re only using it for monitoring you’re going to want some kind of speaker emulation.

Another option would be to split your signal at the end of your effects chain and send some kind of amp-in-box pedal to the board for monitoring. That would also give you a backup if the amp has an issue.
