Vintage tweed fest!

Post by Soiouz » Fri Jan 17, 2020 9:36 am

There's some sort of tweed fest going on at my place:

-1960 Fender Tremolux
-1953 Fender Champion "600"
-1959 Fender Tremolux

Oh my! I built a replica of a 1955 Tremolux a couple of years back and I LOVE it! I’m sure the big-box versions that you have sound huge. What guitar are you playing through all this tweed fun?

Now that's a fantastic collection of amps right there.

Which one is your favourite of the bunch?

My favorite and main guitar these days are not offsets. I use a 1958 Silvertone (Danelectro) U1 a lot, and a 1956 Gretsch Country Club.

The offset I use the most is a road worn Jazzmaster.

Hard to say as the Champ and Tremolux are such different beasts. My favorite has to be the 1959 for overall tone and versatility, but the 1960 Tremolux rocks and is the one I bring to gigs.

BUT, the Champ is the one that gets the most use at home.
