NAD: Epiphone Pacemaker EA-50T 1964

This little thing landed today. I got it for a good price (just over £300) on a whim.

It has a weird tube compliment but apparently it's just a 10w Gibson Skylark for the most part. It sounds great, but a little shrill. No tone control means I'll have to swap some components to tame it a little (apparently that's pretty common). Pics...







All those Electrolytics are gonna go, and I'll change the one off the cathode of V1 too as I bet that is sucking some bass. That Illinois Capacitors one is probably fine but I might as well change it while I'm there just in case....





This will be the culprit regards excess treble. I'll definitely be getting that out...



Tremolo is nice and strong and it breaks up nicely. Well worth £300 of anyone's money I think!

Hi, nice find. I have same amp here. Can you confirm that the white wire coming out of the PT is the heater ground? On mine I get continuity between the white wire and yellow/red, which is causing a short on my limiter?

The famous tone sucker! I have removed them before, very strange idea but easily replaced.

Im picking up an Epiphone Ensign tomorrow for cheap that should have three of those components,
should be an interesting amp after a little work.
