The orange one is a bass amp and it sounds okay, good for that clean 80s clang. The white is the guitar model and sounded REALLY brash and sharp so I swapped in a darker speaker...it's really nice now.

I dug out my HH MA-100. I had to spend 30min cleaning it first. It sounds great as a clean guitar amp but I think there's something wrong with it. I have to turn up the the channel & Master volume to 7 each for it to be as loud as my '76 Deluxe reverb on 2.5 to 3. Maybe the input impedance isn't right for guitar. I'll have to check. Really great crisp clean tone though.

I'm on the hunt for an IC-100S in the meantime.

Oooh nice. In Mexico i had a bunch of old Sunn amps, over here they're rare and their weight is their price in gold, it seems...

Those Sunns were bought for like 100-300 euros some decade ago, I really don't know how much the prices have skyrocketed in recent years.

a friend of mine recently bought a sunn beta lead combo for about 800 euros and it sounded killer until the power amp blew. All the op amps need replacing He wasn't playing it at crazy volume at all.

Volume doesn't matter, that old PSU needed to be recapped at the very least but all the voltage regulators and bridge rectifiers should also be replaced. Hopefully his bill wasn't too crazy. Op Amps are cheap but large capacitors are expensive now. 800 Euros sounds too expensive but I really don't know.

Yesterday was a good day - I got a very rare, late 80s czechoslovak solid state combo for free. And it is mostly working
(here's a random pic I found online, I forgot to take a proper picture of it)


The thing I got is Tesla G100-115 and it is one hell of an amp. Two channels, Bright/Deep switches on each channel, "extended range" footswitchable eq (a bit like the GEQ on Mesa Boogie's Mark series amps, but with knobs instead of faders), 100w watts of pure mayhem and very funky reverb. the 15" speaker is pretty cool, it's an in-house clone of JBL E140. It's the heaviest amp I've ever handled, period. Must weight at least 40kgs.

here's a quick demo I made with my phone. I ran a borrowed Jolana Strat with EMG 81 straight into the amp. Check out the crazy reverb sounds in the end of the video!

That's wild. I had an old Peavey Classic 400 bass head that was 45kg and I could barely get it on top of a cab without putting my back out. I hope you have wheels on it

Fortunately enough, there are wheels - however they barely work and one is conveniently stuck but it's still, what a relief. I wouldn't want it without the wheels, even for free

I pulled up that demo and my eyes bugged out, but then I realised “oh, it’s just that insanely talented dude who can make anything sound mind-wreckingly cool, no need to worry”. Glad you found a gem.
