NAD! Princeton Reverb Content
Well, look what I've got...
I stumbled upon this amp and I wound up getting it for the price of a used Princeton Reverb Reissue, even after shipping fees, paypal fees, customs fees, and brokerage fees. All-in-all, I'm happy!
When the amp arrived, I opened up the box and was delighted to see that the amp was packed well. When I pulled the amp out of the box, I noticed the rectifier and poweramp tubes had come loose from the amp and laying on top of the reverb bag. The amp must have been dropped pretty hard to have those tubes come loose! None the less, I put them back in, and pop, hiss, hum, feedback! Luckily, the seller included an extra set of RCA, JAN, and Westinghouse rectifier, preamp, and poweramp tubes (along with the NOS tubes in the amp), so after a little bit of trial and error, I found that it was just a shotty preamp tube (RCA). I told the seller that it arrived and let him know about the loose power tubes and the shotty preamp tube, not accusing him of anything or even complaining, and he responded very quickly offering to pay for whatever repairs I might need to do. A great seller to do business with and I received it after only three days of shipping.
The amp sounds incredible! Supposedly the amp has been blackface'd, whatever that means for this amp. What I really think was done is that the boost was disabled and the added line-out in the back was disconnected. Other than that, it sounds like a good PR, like a mini-Vibrolux. However, a new speaker will be in order. The stock Utah (?) speaker has farty bass, incredibly bright highs, and is not efficient enough (breaks up at 2) for my playing style, it seems. I'm going to try out one of the speakers in my Vibrolux, when I get it back, to see if that'll help give me more of what I want. None the less, I can dial in a great tone with the bass cranked and the treble rolled completely off.
No more purchases until I sell a ton of stuff!

I need to do some research as for a good speaker. I really don't even know where to start, to be honest. The Ragin' Cajun seems like a good choice as well the old Jensen C10N and Celestion 10" Greenback, but I really have no idea. I like the way the current speaker sounds, it's just not efficient enough for my playing. Whatever I choose, the cheaper the better!

I feel you on that. From experience, the Legend series are a lot of bang for the buck. I have them in three of my cabs. They are usually a bit cheaper than the Patriot or Red Coat series.

Congrats on your acquisition!
Weber makes new period-correct speaker replacements for Fender '60s (and '50s, and '70s) vintage speakers in their Vintage Series. They are really well-priced and high quality. Worth the wait-time for ordering. https://taweber.powweb.com/weber/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
These ones are on special for US$90 at the mo'

Thanks guys!
Everything sounds like god through this thing. The Tele sounds the best, but the Jazzmaster sounds great too, if not a bit bright. I love Princeton Reverbs because they give a pure representation of the way the guitar sounds.
The trem is a lot softer, less jagged, than my Vibrolux's trem, which is nice. More of a throb than a slice, if that makes sense. Both are awesome, though. The reverb might be broken a little bit, quite possibly due to the shipping. It sounds beautiful in that it adds a lot of space, but there's no drip or splash like my Vibrolux or even other PRs that I've played through. Less evasive sounding, though, which I like a lot, so it doesn't bother me.
I'll check out those Weber speakers. I really like Webers just not the shipping and border fees that I have to go through when I've bought them. If I can find a domestic alternative to Weber, all the better!

Re: NAD! Princeton Reverb Content
There is a canadian internet shop, Arsenal music, that sell celestion and Eminence speaker. I can recommand them, my girlfriend bought them a Ragin Cajun for me and the service was very nice. Also, the shipping is less expensive then ordering in a US shop and you don't pay duty tax.
For the speaker, I love the Ragin Cajun in my PRRI. It gives alot more headroom, grind and attack. It's not the more fendery speaker though, the distortion is quite harsh. I like it that way, but you may not. For a fendery Eminence Speaker with alot of sparkle, I can recommand the Copperhead. Anyway, both are really good in a Princeton Reverb.

Thanks for the shop recommendation! I love the idea of the Ragin Cajun, but I think I'd prefer something more Fendery. I like my old Fenders to sound like old Fenders. Have you played the Copperhead? It looks like a good option.

No, I didn't played it. I have read a big bunch of review before buying my Ragin Cajun. I have also listen to alot of vidéos (for what it is worth). I have also read that a combinaison of a Ragin Cajun and a Copperhead is very good for a Vibrolux.

for more classic Fender/Jensen sound from Eminence, you probably want a Legend 1058.

Hey, congrats!! That's awesome, and I'm very jealous.
The cool thing about fretless is you can hit a note...and then renegotiate.

I have four 10" alnico weber signatures in my super reverb, and they sound pretty good to my ears. They go from 30 bucks (ceramics) to 40 bucks (alnicos). I think they give a good bang for the buck.
