This one might be my favorite cabinet design of all time. I just love the way these look. If only they sounded as good though...
I can't believe you didn't have a Watkins Dominator in there so I'll have to add a pic of one.
And the Selmer Thunderbird, another fav, shown with and without an offset

Pity it's so battered. It sounded amazing, like an AC30 on steroids, with the 15" speaker.
Sold it for £80... Bleh. Stupid!

those WEMs are awesome!
i had a selmer zodiac a few years ago, only had it for a short time though, sadly it went up in smoke one day, very very toxic smelling smoke too!! haha.
the guys in the shop told me that thing was a health hazard, but dangit the old girl just sounded so amazing i had to have it, it was incredibly loud for 30 watts, and the tremolo on those old selmers is just astonishing, really really beautiful. i sold it on to some dude who said he wanted to restore it. i'll have to get another one someday i really miss it

Oh man I'm sorry to hear that. That's really the one vintage amp I want badly. That pulsating eye and giant selmer logo just does soemthing for me. Not sure why. So what do they sell for over there these days?nealescott wrote: those WEMs are awesome!

Lovely all those Gibson/Supro/Watkins etc amps in one thread! Good to see some of these less known (but often very capable!) amps. As soon as I figure out howto post pics I'll add my '58 Gibson GA20T.

I'd swear I was seeing about £1000 from the Brit shops in Vintage Guitar not so long ago. Hmmm. If they're really that much I'll have to take it straight off my GAS list.fuzzjunkie wrote: So what do they sell for over there these days?

I know you have the image listed as a 6159 but that is a 6162 for sure. 6159s have refrigerator handles rather than the swively kind. In fact, I saw your picture and I thought you had a picture of MY amp - it looks almost exactly like that down to the upper part of the"H" missing and the tear to the upper top left outside of the amp by the control panel. I was convinced that was my amp(old ebay photo I guess...I won mine of ebay for just under $400 almost three years ago) until I saw the tolex rip in the bottom left corener - mine is sitll clean there....zhivago wrote:

Here are a few of mine.
1953 Gretsch like a Champ
1966 Skylark I have 2 of these... they are amazing.
The rest are from Southworth Guitar. If you are ever in the DC area this is a MUST stop.

Cool stuff Curtis
I might be wrong but the brown facing, chickenhead knobs and white lettering looks remarkably similar to the Gibson amps of the same time... Do you know where this was built?
