Same, but I'm using a Barber Direct Drive. Gain at 9 o'clock is plenty. So fun.MechaBulletBill wrote:I'm getting some gnarly tones from a Distortion+ and a Champ 600. Makes the amp a lot fuller on lower distortion settings, lovely and lo-fi at higher settings.

I didn't even know about a Model D.
I knew there was a G and the H...

The BJFE ones called "Model __" are: Model H, (and Model Hs which is a slight variation of the H), Model R, Model D and Model G
H is for Hiwatt, D for Dumble, R for Trainwreck and G for an old 50s Gibson amp.

Very cool. Makes me wonder if Bearfoot will ever bring back the D and F. I had a model G recently that was awesome and full of potential but I sold it in a flurry of flipping pedals before I came to really appreciate it. I love my honey bee though!

The R and D models are pretty rare, so hopefully they will get a Bearfoot release...I think the D has more of a chance, as the R uses some crazy-rare part.
I am with you on the Honey Bee...it is just awesome...pushed by the Klon I go into Neil Young territory too!

Re: Setup of the day
Lately, I've been playing with a group that has an old Selmer T&B 50 combo which, if it has the original speakers (closed back, nobody's sure), it has two vintage Greenbacks.
Needless to say, when it got cranked at the gig last night, it sounded very, very nice. Powerful, thick cleans with just enough edge to the sound, and it ate up the pedals. Slapback or reverb sounded sweet, and the Buzzz was big and angry (didn't use the Fuzz War).

Re: Setup of the day
i really love how simple your setup can be at times. everytime i see your pedalboard, i kinda wish i could have one that simple. sadly, because i write for 2 guitar players that have wild sounds, i cant right now.

Really, really nice, Yannis. I would love to play through that for an hour or two. Hard to think of a sound that I couldn't get out of that setup.

Thanks guys,
I always try and have the essentials on my board...many years ago I went through phases of larger setups, but I always go back to something small like the pedal train Jr
