This looks fantastic! What's the Lion side like? And which of his Sunfaces is in it (germanium or silicon)?

Re: your effects setup?
Last night I broke out the good power supply to try out everything I'd bought for my bass rig so far. Bass > everything > Q\Strip straight into mixer. Sounded epic. I weeded out the Dwarfcraft Baby Thundaa and the SS/BS Mini from my bass rig (might keep the Baby Thundaa for guitar). I found that I REALLY like my EQD Westwood (from my guitar board) driving either the Cusack Screamer Fuzz Bass or the Arc Effects Soothsayer. Then I found that with the Soothsayer set to medium gain, and the Cusack Screamer Fuzz Bass set a bit hairier than medium gain and being driven by the Soothsayer (Soothsayer > Screamer F.B.) sounds really incredible. I still want to get a EQD Plumes after messing with one though.
So far, I'm liking the EQD Hummingbird on bass, REALLY liking the EHX Attack Decay, but the most epic sounding thing is the Octron with Soothsayer and reverb

Apologies for the late reply, I am currently in holiday, so greetings from Saigon!
The lion side has a great amount of boost that should kick any amp or amp-like pedal into overdrive or heavy distortion, depending on your settings. The toggle between the eq shifts is tuned perfectly, I honestly could not be happier with how Mike has tuned this.
On the Sunface side, I did a ton of reading...days upon days, well, evenings, researching, and thought that RCA transistors were what I needed, as I mostly play Gibsons nowadays..but I wanted the classic NKT sound too, so this is one of the Ge NKT RCA hybrids. Med gain NKT red dot with an RCA...it sings...muscular, and at times quite brutal, is you stack it a certain way with the Beano side into a cooking amp. It cuts through with Gibson’s, and is not as temperature sensitive as a normal NKT Ge fuzz.
I am very happy with it I must say...I’ve been meaning to buy one for probably ten years, a good friend of mine has one of the first 20 ever made....white dot NKTs...the full nine yards...sounds awesome through his Matchless Lightning, and this hybrid sounds great through my Matchless amp,

That's a really interesting mix of pedal. I had a BC-109 Sunface years ago, and loved it. Kinda wish I hadn't gotten rid of it. Did you order it with a custom Sunface side (transistors of your choice), or was that one of his options? I've never messed with Germanium transistors much, but I love the sound.

Re: your effects setup?
I started putting this board together as a “leftovers” board for a quick grab and go board for a new band that I was rehearsing with. It has quickly turned into a heavy hitter and my full size board has been sitting neglected since I built it.
I will say that this was my first time working with prefab boards, as i’ve been using home made boards for the last 11 or 12. I’m so stoked on this Temple board! I’m using Dual Lock but the grid-like set up makes it easy to line things up. Easy to keep things clean and tidy underneath too using plenty of zip ties.

I did order the transistors from one of his options...the options themselves change on his website, so it's a good idea to jump on an option you like while it is available. From what I understand, Mike has a good supply of these NKTs and RCAs, so the version I got should be available for a while, but god knows for how long.
I've been building a small arsenal of pedals (again) lately and a Fuzzface with NKTs was on my list as eventually they will run out and it'll be harder to buy them...I think I will try and get my hands on a Sunbender MK1.5 too...the transistors used there will eventually run out too, so I may get one in a month or two.
Here's a gut shot of the Sunlion...

Re: your effects setup?
That's beautiful. I'm almost tempted to ask Mike if he could make a Sunlion with the BC-109 Silicon just for the hell of it... I should just bite the bullet and order a Germanium Sunface too. They sound so good from everyone I've heard who plays one.zhivago wrote: ↑Fri Aug 23, 2019 11:31 pmI did order the transistors from one of his options...the options themselves change on his website, so it's a good idea to jump on an option you like while it is available. That's a lovely setup! 2 questions: 1) how are you liking the Somersault so far? 2) How is the Tremcoder?!?

Re: your effects setup?
The Somersault is amazing. I can't recommend it enough. The Trem Coder is super cool too, it does really weird, and very traditional sounds, and it sounds great doing both. The only thing that's a little bit wacky on it is the tap tempo/on off switch being combined. If you need to go from no trem to trem immediately on (say kicking on the trem when you get to the chorus of a song) you can't really do that, you have to tap in the tempo and wait a second before the fx starts.Shadoweclipse13 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 25, 2019 11:42 pm
