Dunlop Univibe vs. vintage Univibe.

Post by RumorsOFsurF » Fri Feb 02, 2007 1:54 am

I'd like to buy a Univibe pedal,  but I haven't decided between a new one, or a vintage one.  Are the new ones faithful to the originals?  Anyone have experience with either?

the dunlop is utter crap! if you want a decent budget vibe clone go with the voo doo labs one

it's not the most spot on univibe clone, but the roger mayer voodoo vibe does it and then goes way past what most of the rest can do.

I will echo some of the comments about the Dunlop vibe. It's just not that great - clean or overdriven. I never liked the thin and often generally weak tone it produced with my JM or tele. I had it twice - sold it both times.  :k
If you're looking for a cheap mode vibe, try lovepedals knockoff. I prefer it to the Voodoo labs - though both work fine. It's about the same price as as the microvibe.
The vibe clone for me has always been the PE Vibe Unit. If you're not shy about spending the money, you may want to consider it. Fair market price - definitely a good vibe.
