What is the pedal you've chased the longest?

It seems like we are. You may need to tweak those settings a bit at a higher volume, I was playing it on my THR at really low volume (in the ac30 mode, I think), so a different amp & more volume may change the dynamics. It’s a starting point, anyway.

I just love the way the delay waits just a bit, & then hits like a pinball getting spanked between active bumpers on that setting, then just put in reverb to taste.

That’s exactly what I’m going to do - put it early in the chain. I wish it was stereo, but I guess that’s another good reason to put it early in the chain, before the signal splits. Not sure yet if I’ll use the Westwood right after it, or just use the dirt pedals in each chain to do slightly different things to its sound themselves.
I don't play very loud at all, but I'll keep that in mind if I do play with it any louder. I always figure that all pedals are a bit different with a quiet amp vs a loud/louder amp.

It did remind me a little of my Catalinbread Echorec in the multi-head modes. I wonder how epic it'll be if it's got a bit of a ping-pong kind of feel, since I usually run two amps as a wet-dry rig. I split the signal after my gains and tremolo...

Just realised I never made a significant contribution to this long-running thread yet.

There are a couple of pedals I've wanted to get a hold of over the years and have done, but at this stage the one that has eluded me longest is probably the Shin-ei FY-2. Years ago I drove through to Edinburgh to pick up a Kimbara-branded version, a snip at £25; unfortunately this was in the early days of eBay when I was drunk on the buzz of flipping stuff for what in retrospect were laughably small profits. My current thinking is that if I find something special at a knock-down price I'd be crazy to not just hang onto it and enjoy that I got a true bargain (which is probably why my house resembles a junk shop).

An FY-2 came up locally a year or several ago for £100 and I swithered, ultimately not bothering. In retrospect, that was a bargain too by today's prices. I was led astray by looking at the likes of the Unpleasant Companion and thinking I could just buy one of those for around the same money and it'd be new, thus lacking any issues an ancient one might have developed over the years, but now I veer more towards the view that the real thing is always going to be more satisfying than a clone. It's almost as if M@J@ really is a thing!

Others I'm always on the lookout for at a good price include the Boss DM-2. I got one a couple of years ago, but it turned out to be the version with the same chip as the DM-3, so kind of surplus to requirement as I had one of those already. In this instance I think the waza version will suffice if I can find a good deal on a second-hand one. There are a few early Bosses I'd like to add to my collection, like the PH-1r and the PS-2, both of which I've owned in the past, maybe a couple of times over, but let go. Lately, picking up the Behringer clone of the DC-3 has made me regret selling the one I had, as it might be my favourite chorus, with all that tweakability. It'd be uber-cool to find the rarer Space-D version.

Moogerfooger is the other brand always on my radar. The Phaser and the Ring Modulator specifically, but if the price was right and I had the funds I'd probably try any of the originals.

Mine is not really a desirable pedal, and it's probably not even one that I'd have any use for anymore (or that I couldn't replicate in other ways), but I've always wanted the Dano Black Paisley Liquid Metal distortion pedal. I think I might have read a review of it in a magazine back when nu-metal was en vogue and I've always fancied it since.

I need to go figure out where I’m going to put it, and what’s getting pulled so it can fit!
Finally tried the Afterneath early in the chain this Saturday morning, and that's where it's staying. I forgot to try your recommended settings. Oops. I had it after my treble boost and compressor, but before fuzz, RAT-type, EQD Westwood, and EQD The Dunes, and it killed. Absolutely staying there. I've got a new fuzz that should be here tomorrow that may bump the old one out, so I'll try that out, and your recommended settings too.

I think as far as individual pedals go it might be the Pitch Fork, I've always wanted one and I guess it's been what 4-5 years now? Anyway one popped up second hand and I jumped on it. No idea how I am going to squeeze it on my board tho. :fp:

Nice! I've sorta wanted an EHX POG of some type for the ambient stuff, and after seeing a demo of someone comparing a POG to a Pitch Fork and seeing how much overlap there is, I want one. And EHX is about to release the Pitch Fork Plus which looks awesome!!

I already have way too many dirt pedals, but I'm still looking to get a Prescription Electronics Depth Charge. I play bass a lot, and those pedals just have a very distinct, gnarly sound to them

Probably my Roger Mayer Axis fuzz.
Not the more abundant orange ones but the original Black one from the late 80s.

It's not an active chase as much as a prolonged lusting but a Mutron Bi-Phase and a vintage Fender Blender probably.

I want all of the original Frantone stuff, a Lovetone Brown Source and/or Cheese Source, and the old Way Huge stuff. The jump in Moog prices makes me feel sad for my future self when I inevitably finish that collection as well.

Have you tried any of the new Mu-Tron stuff? I've been eyeing the phaser particularly...

I had no idea it existed at all! I'd say thanks but essentially you have provided me with a bill for 270+€ :-/

Sorry man :'( :shifty: I found out that Mu-tron was back and doing small enclosures not that long ago myself. I'd love to have the Phasor III, but I wish they'd make a mini Bi-phase...

The Mu Tron website says 2 can be linked via control voltage to make a Bi-Phase. Only set you back $600!

The Bi-Phase is the one I would go for too. I have played a vintage one before, but so big and so expensive, I can’t really say I need the sounds that much. A Lovetone Doppelgänger would have done the trick too, but that’s almost as big and expensive as an original.

Probably a kanji Fuzz Factory... I had one and sold it in a fit (either bought it from or sold it to @smalltownsongs if memory serves), and have wished I could get that one back...

Otherwise I'd love to have an RE-301, but that's not a "chase" inasmuch as I'm not ready to pounce if I see one (unless the price is stupidgood), unlike the FF...
