Boss TU-1000
Apparently this was a real thing. I love how over-the-top ridiculous it is. It’s seriously like a Pedaltrain Nano + worth of tuner.

Wow. That thing is the size of my Decibel 11 Pedal Pallette controller. It will act as a controller of each pedal, and it can switch the order of the pedals, or be a midi controller/midi controlled for the pedals.
It’s a real estate hog, but it does a lot.
That’s uh, a tuner.

It’s fit for a rock star though!somanytoys wrote: ↑Thu Aug 15, 2019 7:08 amWow. That thing is the size of my Decibel 11 Pedal Pallette controller. It will act as a controller of each pedal, and it can switch the order of the pedals, or be a midi controller/midi controlled for the pedals.

Re: Boss TU-1000
Haha!
I thought that’s what guitar techs were for.
Apparently it’s for rock star wannabes that are their own guitar techs, and blind (like me!!!)???
I actually like those old rackmount tuners better, but I know that groups are going with the clean stage look now. Gotta have room for the dancers to gyrate.
(I don’t use the rackmount, tho, I use tc polytune noir pedals, but I do still have an old tu-2.
Not very rockstar, I guess)

Honestly I’d love a rack tuner for my bass rig, but it’s more trouble and expense than it’s worth.

Re: Boss TU-1000
Me too, first saw one when Billy Sheehan was using one live a long time ago. Forget who he was playing with at the time, but it looked cool. Almost as much fun as watching him go ballistic.
They’re nice, but I don’t have any extra spaces in my racks for one. They’re all kind of smaller ones, and they’re full of power amps and a preamp.
And my other one is hosting my SPX 90’s, so that’s a no go.
Guess I’ll just have to continue to wince my way through using pedals to tune, like a plebe...haha

I assume that this is 998 better than my TU-2.

Re: Boss TU-1000
So far (to me), the most innovative tuners have to be the Peterson strobo stomp and the Hardwire HT-6, I think it is. I also love my TC Polytune noir, that is similar. There are other great ones, but those are the most innovative ones that I’m aware of.
Real strobe tuners are incredible, even tho they may be a bit of overkill for a guitar’s tuning drawbacks. But their accuracy is incredible. The strobo stomp seems to do a good job, although I only have the iPhone app if it. That works really well.
The ability to tune multiple strings at once and see them is great, but I still tune one at a time, because each string’s tension changing affects the others, even on locked tremolo systems. Still, very cool.
I didn’t read what all this new Boss thing has that is improved, it might be great, but it just seems to me to have a 998 larger footprint and display.
I have no need for 50 different tuning modes, even tho most tuners have them. And I may be half blind, but I can see a circle moving in different directions and changing colors just fine on the teeny tiny teenincy little polytunes.
But they may be great for some people.

Re: Boss TU-1000
I think I read where Peterson just came out with an upgraded strobo pedal, 2.0 or something? I may look into it, they seem really nice but a little expensive.
And I already have 4 tuners...
I think if I was able to work on and set up my guitars and basses, I’d get one. It would be worth having for something like that.
