Damn I hadn't seen that conversation, yeah as a lesbian I've seen this sort of thing before, typically when someone is accepting of lgbt they can actually say they are accepting/ supportive, and he doesn't do that he instead dodges the question in a very political way. Also using the wording "if my kids were gay I would love them and respect their choice", being gay is not a choice and anyone that is accepting and is asked a question publicly with the history they have and wanting to actually clear the air *moves closer to the mic* would not say that...

Yeah, that bit struck me pretty hard, too. When your answer to "do you think being gay is immoral" is "well, I don't want my company to be political", you've already made a clear political choice about it.

Well, he supposedly no longer attends that church, but hires from its congregation pretty heavily despite his claim. And he's totally cagey and won't give a straight (heh) answer when asked his position on gay people, so...

He's certainly not doing himself any favours by not giving straight (heh) answers. I wonder how much of that is him being worried about losing a lot of his Worship Player™ consumer market? His pedals are huge in that crowd. Not sure if Strymon has said anything in favour of Gay People or Pride, but it'd probably destroy their company if they did.

I have a Fulltone Choralflanger that won its place on my board after an insane amount of chorus pedal rolling. I don't particularly feel like going through hundreds of dollars again trying to find a replacement. I bought it used and Fulltone doesn't make it anymore. My feeling is that I didn't support Mike Fuller's business directly, though I suppose someone could see it out on my board and assume the worst about me as a result. I don't own any JHS pedals and, if that Reddit back-and-forth was recent, then I'll need to stop watching the Youtube show too.

Wow .. that never occurred to me. Sometimes I think I live in a parallel universe to the USA. The idea that 'worship players' could be a 'market segment' is so far from reality in the universe where I live. I mean I guess there are some people who play in churches around here. And there's a few mega churches somewhere although I've never seen one, in a city of 5 million. They're more in our 'deep north' ... I know that they 'use' music to attract young people. And our current Prime Minister attends one .. but he's strange. Churches around here are mostly where old ladies sing hymns. And they're dying out with their congregations.

In related news, I just stumbled upon Premier Guitar's very mild editorial about the whole situation, and the comments there are... something.
I knew guitar media wasn't the most open environment, but I didn't expect to see a whole lot of angry old dudes.
Reading Joe Gore dunk on a few of them has been great though, I knew I didn't love the guy just for his great guitar chops.

Against my better judgement I read some of the comments before finally realizing they were making me sick to my stomach. Anyone who doesn't understand what makes OSG special should read those comments and know that general sentiment is rife in the guitar playing community, but glaringly absent here. It isn't the offset guitars, it's the people who make this a great place to hang out.

Besides Fulltone and JHS, there are other pedal companies. If I never buy a Fulltone or a JHS pedal ever again is fine with me.
