I don't know that I will/would buy one, but it really is cool as fuck. I like how the mini jacks are in the center and lower than the rest of the pedal...

There are certainly a lot of people with modular stuff that use effects on the desktop.

Definitely not the worst idea, and it has a lot of potential, but it’s still a no for me.

I've had enough trouble trying to integrate TRS stereo pedals into a TS world (really, there should be better cable options out there: all that I can find are bulky, wrong angles, or flimsy; an all-trs board would be pretty elegant though). I have no desire to add to the cable clutter, much less add some upwards facing jacks.

I'll admit to looking at modular synths with the same wariness as the hard stuff in the 90s: "seems like it could be fun but, man, is it going to cost a lot of money. Best to avoid before I start robbing my roommates."

I’m a truly awful keyboard player, and while I realize it’s not necessary to be all that good to mess with sequencers and such it’s an adequate excuse for now.

I think what could be super cool is a floor controller that could talk to Eurorack stuff. I guess you would also need a head unit/chassis where you can patch everything in.

It’s a little weird to me that we’re still using pedals in 2024. Elaborate rack rigs are certainly not dead, but it’s not practical or affordable for most people, and a lot of them still involve pedals.

I would rather see innovation even if it’s stuff I don’t have a musical use for.

Basically what I’m after is a tremolo that either changes speed or depth with playing dynamics. If they can engineer that into one of these, I’m all in.

So basically an envelope to control the speed or depth? Not analog, but the Eventide Harmadillo effect does just that (H9, H90)

Harmadillo features three ENV (envelope follower) controls that use your picking and playing dynamics to affect the tremolo’s rate, depth, and crossover frequency. These controls can make subtle or drastic changes to your sound and add flexibility to the effect. When first getting to know Harmadillo, we recommend setting the ENV controls to 0 so that you can get a feel for the basic controls first. Once you are familiar with those, it will be easier to see how the ENV controls can be used to add expression to your playing.

I sometimes feel that too many options and such actually cause me to waste more time fiddling around with it and all the options. I know some people love it, but I kind of prefer to go the other way. One pickup with a volume. One or two pedals and an amp. (Usually an overdrive and a distortion.)

With these I bet I could find a dozen sounds in a pedal I like, but like others have said, I wouldn’t want to be switching wires around and fiddling with knobs to switch around those sounds. I would prefer one great sound so you can dial in what you want and then just turn it on or off. If I wanted a bunch of options, I think I would prefer a multi digital effect where I could save a setting as one clickable switch and another to a different switch. That way you kick it on or off. No playing with plugging in and changing wires and knob settings.

This companies entire shtick seems to be designing things that people would never want or use and that in real life use would either break or prove incredibly frustrating, then pretending that their weird product isn't dogshit but is in fact innovative.

Edit: And I say that as someone who likes weird things, and has a particular fondness for pursuing bad, unworkable ideas.
