The Surfy Bear FET Reverb

Here is something I spent some time with.
A JFET/MOS version of the classic Fender 6G15 standalone reverb.
The topology is almost identical, the tubes in the schematic is replaced with JFETS/MOSFETS and the OT is replaced with a current source.
Reverb pan: MOD.
Cabinet is about 10% smaller. Power supply: 12DC adapter.

But I think most people prefers the tube based version.

I would buy this instantly if its reasonably priced - Im waiting on those sound clips

You have some really good surf bands in your part of Europe.
I am a huge fan of Bambi Molesters and Threesome.
I got some very good cd recommendations when I visited Belgrade last year.

I am very interested in hearing this tank! Please post sound samples. You also might want to post about this tank design over in surfguitar101. Most of them (myself included) prefer tubes, but if the sound is good, you might win over some folks.

Oh, and Threesome and the Bambi's are AMAZING!

PS - I am going to the Surfer Joe festival in Livorno Italy this year. I am looking forward to experiencing the Euro Surf Scene!!

Very nice to hear that you're interested in the reverb.
I am trying to get hold of a mic for creating a few sound samples!

Unfortunately I cant make it to the Surfer Joe Festival this year...
But I plan to go there next year!

I am also EXTREMELY interested in this! I have thought of this exact idea for a while (4 or 5 years) but have neither the know how nor the patience to take on building it. Thanks so much for putting the time into such a cool idea! I saw your post at surfguitar101 last night. I have a Gomez G-Spring and it is fantastic but can be a little finicky in the practice space I usually play in. Probably due to the old wiring of the house, but sometimes it hums somewhat loudly. The size and look of a tube unit is something I appreciate as a traditionalist but as I continue to get older, size, weight, and overall portability are things that appeal to me greatly. I would love to have a reverb tank driven unit that isn't much larger than the tank itself and can sound lively and "drip" the way only tube units do. Looking forward to some sound clips and the possibility of you selling these in the future! I think more people would be interested in these than you might imagine.

Wow that is great looking! What is the MOD? In terms for reverb I mean. Is it an actual spring tank or one of those reverb bricks? I'd totally be into one of these with an extra long reverb tank
