Fotoform album (Seattle post-punk)

Post by cestlamort » Sat Apr 15, 2017 9:40 am

Full disclosure: my band.

We just did the digital release on our new record (LP to follow in a couple weeks) and I'm really quite proud of it.

A bit different from what we were doing as C'est la Mort but in the same post-punk / guitars / loud and pretty ballpark. We're still using "pointy shoegaze" as a genre (not entirely seriously, however).

I would love to hear what you all think.

New name looks good on you Geoff and it sounds great, sometimes I could imagine you on a Scandinavian eyeliner compilation circa 1985. I'm not saying your dated but you sit in the hollow between sounding like you might be an old tape only band getting pressed up on Dark Entries or a newer band totally on the style on Desire France or something.

Are you getting distribution or is Bandcamp going to be the only game in town?

D
Are you loathsome tonight?

Thanks, David. We're definitely trying to live in the eternal present of the sounds in our heads.
We're looking into distribution (we'd welcome any suggestions/recommendations, especially for Europe), and will be rolling out to the other digital services eventually.

We're hoping that people are as excited as we are about the LP (clear). Just good to have the album out in the wild.

Thanks!

No secrets as far as pedals and amps (nor huge pedal boards): jaguar and Rickenbacker 12 into ibanez ue400/405, fender super reverb or twin and Roland jc77. The "synth" is either a space station or Yamaha fx500 (too rockist to claim "guitars only" but true here). Other guitars were les paul into peavey stereo chorus or old esp into fuzz wah, ibanez fl9, PDS 20/20, into exact same model amp. Rickenbacker Bass - old clone theory - peavey mark iv- ampeg 4/10-1/15
