oh! i wonder how this concert have been! please tell us!
it was a great show. i wish the soundguy did a better job mixing.  the core members are really talented: singer/guitar/theremin, double bass/tuba, accordian/piano/violin & drums/trumpet. plus they had additional members on stage (violin, viola, cello & trumpet). then basia bulat who opened came out along with her ukulele player & drummer for the last song. luckily the stage was big enough.

sounds quite cool! just like i imagined.
i'll have to look out for shows here in germany..

by the way: added to my concert (wish)list: amanda rogers
have seen her just some minutes ago in an old underground bunker here in town. wow!
as a friend of me said "it's not just the fact that she's very cute, no, she's charming too!". and we don't need to talk about the music: wonderful. (some songs solo piano, most of them with a band)
radiohead's creep as encore?! and then "i'll play some more songs for you but outside. the air is so stinky inside here."
some minutes later some people sat in front of the bunker entrance, amanda rogers singing and one of the guitarists playing unplugged guitar.
wow :)
definitely not the last show of her i've seen!

I can check Rush and Killswitch Engage off my list.
I missed Megadeth last night and Marilyn Manson earlier in the year. Not having money for concerts sucks.

I'll have to check to see who is playing this summer.

Hopefully going to see Melt Banana and Deerhunter in Leeds, they're on the 16th and 17th (I forget which is which though) and it's a bit of a pain going on consecutive nights but it'll be worth it.

I saw Joy Zipper last night.

Johno found out about it at the last minute & gave me the heads up.

Never heard them but thoroughly enjoyed it.

The first band on, Jake, were hilarious. Just a 2-piece using lots of synth & vocoded guitars. The front man had a really infectious jerky, rapture-esque dance.

so so far ive seen The Mars Volta and The Cure, and I have tickets for the next two.
The Mars Volta was amazing, they are very impressive live, very talented, all of them; Omar, Thomas and Juan especially stood out for me. I loved Omar's tone coming out of his Ibanez signature into his Orange. one of the best live guitar tones ive heard. Juan is a wicked bassist, and Thomas is a machine. holy shit. no encore, but 2.5 hours of pure energy.

The Cure was great live as well, all of them, but I especially enjoyed watching Simon on bass, as he moves around the most on stage. sounded great, very long set, 3 encores! makes me want a Bass VI even more too haha (even though nobody actually played any actual Bass VIs during the show)
