You think you can't, you wish you could, I know you can, I wish you would. Slip inside this house as you pass by.

Besides IA they're best output from the late eighties was the You Made Me Realise EP. But the tremolo EP comes close to their best work.
I'm with you here, my favourite MBV material is the EPs leading up to Loveless, although I'm a big fan of Loveless itself.

When discussing MBV and engaging in some subjective taste pup debate conversation like "which album is better?" I have no problem with the conversation getting into Zep, Sabbath, and Dio.

Loveless achieved a level of notoriety in terms of sales and cultural impact that Isn't Anything never did, even if it was with all the filthy casuals that helped it along.

I am one of those filthy casuals who came at it backwards; the only MBV that I can still listen to are the EPs.

I feel that Loveless was the culmination of all that had come before it by MBV even down to the album art. I love seeing a band make real progress & felt they did just that throughout their career & going from IA into Loveless especially. Both phenomenal albums but are both different but I digress...Dio was the amazing!

So many posts made me check out Loveless and Isn't Anything and I didn't care for either. "Feed Me with your Kiss" was ok, but the rest just felt like drawn out sounds vs music. I must be too into pop rock.....

OZzy Sab vs Dio Sab......two different bands and songwriting .

Mob Rules and Heaven and Hell are great albums in their own right. BUT... The Ozz Sab is just timeless music. You would not say that about Dio Sab.

The hell, you say!

Definitely two different bands and songwriting. Ozzy sabbath timeless, though? It's been played out, it's worn paper-thin, I can't hear it anymore without groaning. And I can't say any of that for Dio sabbath so Dio wins in my book just for sounding fresh by comparison.
This is an excellent rectangle

Well, there are only two Dio Sab albums...three if you count the live one. I'm not counting the 1990's stuff...the sample size is small. Mostly good songs, but come on!!

THe ozzy Sab is played out because it's played so much. Sweet Leaf or Hole in the Sky is better than most Dio Sab.....I do like Neon Kights though.

I,beg to differ...

Like I said before, if it's not supernaut, I got no interest in it. And yes, it's played out because it's played so much. I could go the rest of my life not hearing another ozzy sabbath song other than supernaut, and I'd be fine with it. Generally, Dio's schtick makes me happier. So he gets my nod.

If you are going Dio, I prefer his first two solo cd's. Same thing though....Stand up and shout or Rainbow in the dark are great tunes, but I love love love the quad mix of War Pigs. WIth Dio, I can only take so much Dragon and Elf lore.
