That shit song in your head thread rides again
I know we did this in past but I can't find it and these parasitic songs change...unless you've actually had to be sectioned or are being rendered by the CIA.
So for the last week I've had fucking crappy singing TV detective Jimmy Nail's Ain't No Doubt in my head. I've not heard it's talky Wet Wet Wet milky soul pish anywhere since it was out well over 20 years ago and yet I can't seem to outrun it. I was even listening to minimal techno earlier and I started to hear the melody in the grey 4/4.
This was a UK number one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
D
P.S. sorry if anyone gets a Crocodile Shoes cross infection

This one passed on like a dose of norovirus.
Mrs Nickd had All That She Wants by Ace Of Base stuck in her head, and mentioned it to me, where it promptly lodged itself!

Aaaaarrrgh - Jimmy Nail! I once spent a while explaining to my girlfriend, in a very roundabout way, that she'd missed her chance to see Shirley Bassey play in Newcastle. I told her it was because Ms Bassey had pulled out of an event at the last minute in a huff because she found out that they were unveiling a 50 foot tall statue of Jimmy Nail down by the Quayside and wanted her to sing Hey Big Spender.
(No) Thanks to this place, "Puff Puff Give" is a regular earworm for me.

The Archers theme tune gets stuck in my cortex for days, until I start begging the wife to book me a flight to Switzerland.
Distance-crunching honcho with echo unit.

Oh, yuck. That's a new one to me. I'm not watching it. It can't be worth it. I fold.

That song where someone sings something about something going up in "flaah-ay-eaahms" is currently stuck in my head.

At my age there are few things that make me sprint, but if I hear even a second of that theme playing I'm across the living hitting the off button.

Oh no...I'm down with a bad one.
Joan (almost worse than George) Osbourne - What if God Was One of Us. Fucking hell I've barely heard this three times in my life and yet...stuck in my head. I thought it was Alanis Morissette but it's beyond a jagged little pill and more like swallowing a shuriken.
On the British Standards Institute scale of shit songs to have in your head this scores the full Shitemark or a near unbeatable 4 Non Blondes.

Re: That shit song in your head thread rides again
For some reason I had it in my head that it was written by Percy Grainger, but the internet tells me it's actually by some obscure guy from Yorkshire whose other works have been forgotten (perhaps a good thing). Britten nicked it for one of his symphonies, a surprising misstep on his part.UlricvonCatalyst wrote: ↑Tue May 08, 2018 2:43 amAt my age there are few things that make me sprint, but if I hear even a second of that theme playing I'm across the living hitting the off button.
