Straight outta Compton...err Canterbury. Actually straight outta Sheffield.

Regal Worm - Pig Views is the best Prog* album I've heard in years, if you've a soft spot for Gentle Giant you'll want to hop on this bus since it's in a similar soundkingdom but blessed with enough modernity to keep it interesting. Still a small doses thing for me but good when in the mood.

Main guy Jarrod Gosling plays a metric ton of stuff on it;
Synthesizer [Mellotron M400, Octave Kitten, ARP 2600, Minimax ASB, Korg MS20], Electric Piano [RMI 368 Electra Piano, Fender Rhodes, Kawai 5100], Electric Organ [Hammond L122, Philips Philicorda AG-755 Organ], Keyboards [Assorted Keyboards], Electric Bass [Rickenbacker 4001 Bass, Fender Precision Bass], Electric Guitar [Danelectro Double Neck 6/12 String Guitar, Epiphone Les Paul Junior Guitar], Lap Steel Guitar, Mandolin, Acoustic Guitar [Simon And Patrick Acoustic Guitar], Accordion, Stylophone, Voice, Drums [Rogers Drums], Percussion, Glockenspiel, Toy Piano, Effects, Other [Etc.]
He even did the some of the sleeve.

The Golden Filter ‎– Talk Talk Talk Wave perfection that's had me up dancing for the last month or two. For me Penelope Trappes - Penelope Two was a wondrous dreaming masterpiece but it's still nice to see her back at The Golden Filter.

Colder - To the Music because the above reminded me of it awee bitty

Kasper Bjørke & Colder - Black Magic

Kasper Bjørke & Colder - - Black Magic (The Golden Filter Remix)

Jeanette - Leo (Extended Remix) Absolutely cracking but not that well known song. Jeanette (Launday/ Dwyer) sang in The Glove and also sung Come Here My Love on the second This Mortal Coil elpee. The music on this was done by members of the rather good band Furniture who I've posted int he past.

The Motels - Total Control (this is live) I just played the single. This just popped into my head this morning, can't say I'm a Motels fan at all but I've a soft spot for this once every 20 years or so.

Total Control - Glass

Berntholer - My Suitor when I met Lady Shadowplay in the late 80's I made her a 'wooing tape' with this on it and I still rememember her declaring it 'the most beautiful song I've never heard'. If you like menthol cool vaguely post punk torch songs you'll love this.

Offspring - Windfall #fashiongoals especially Mr Drummer but a fucking great tune. Flute solos > guitar solos!

The Bad Plus - Smells Like Teen spirit (Nirvana cover)

A old take on a modern thing

For those out there who have struggled to understand jazz improvisation, partly due to not being familiar with the tunes being used, this is a good place to start.

The Golden Filter - Temple an EP of such minimal wave magnificence.

The Golden Filter - Talk Talk Talk the intro where it's totally riffing the intro of this is hilarious,

Public Relation - Eighty Eight more mega Belgian New Beat that's sure to get you firing up the strobe and stripping to the waist. Though I've been running to a full New Beat mix this week but it's pretty hard to not dance like a twat when you're waiting to cross traffic.

The Durutti Column - Love No More basically the frail patron saint of guitar, I was beyond sad to hear about him being in trouble after having 3 strokes but was glad to help out. Says something of the measure of the man that the page set up to fund his recovery closed the minute it covered his rent arrears. Always the great inspiration.

The Durutti Column - Jacqueline In an alternate reality Vini is on the front of all the guitar magazines which are 100% chap free. I listened to the record but well...what's this...amazing live Vini and Bruce.

Skeletal Family - Trees what can I say...I was a teenage goth...and now I'm a middle aged goth and wear my eyeliner on the inside.

That's decent, I always seem to miss these digital only tracks so cheers.

I'll try and reciprocate with 12' pounding inches of; Ancient Methods × Black Egg - Ohne Hände (Fundamental Mix) and the original Black Egg - Ohne Hände

You should check out the new Golden Filter I listed above, go with Talk Talk Talk if you've only time for one.

SOPHIE - Is it Cold in the Water I've struggled with the SOPHIE hype, I bought the elpee and folk I rate love it but even with my Glasgow googles on just couldn't get far into it but WOW Is it Cold in the Water is like a drug come up, a future aria of spiralling moth pheromones rushing ever upword to some digital moon. :wtf: Gorgeous gorgeousness or lovesly as one of the Shadowplay young team puts it.

Btw I moaned elsewhere about being forced to sit through Aquaman an how shite the music was in it...fucking hell talk about an open goal with this...
