Bernthøler - Pardon Up Here if you don't know Bernthøler and have a taste for gauzy torch songs in the This Mortal Coil vein do yourself a favour and a have a listen to this and My Suitor which comes before it on the 12". Absolute fucking masterpieces.

Bernthøler ‎– Japanese Garden another spoken word from a little earlier, not quite My Suitor level as a track but still worth the few quid I paid for it.

Grebenstein & Seefried – Raging Tender literally just opened the box and played this for the first time. She seems to be talking the talk about Twin Peaks as far as I can tell. :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*

Propaganda - Disziplin As a massive Throbbing Gristle fan how I wanted to buy this when I saw this live. Cooler than a penguin. Sadly the studio version is weak sauce by comparison.

The Magic Ray - The Enjoyment of Fear (with Kid Congo Powers) the Kid flirts with 'singing'. If we compare singing to running and talking to walking the Kid get's close the the three flag 'straight leg rule' that governs race walking but I'll allow it since...he's fucking Kid Congo Powers. It's worth going forth to song of the day for more The Magic Ray.

The Golden Filter- Coincidence super sensual coldwavespeak

Carola Baer - Doors Talk AMAZING album this that was allegedly found on a cassette in a Portland thrift store and recorded in 1990-1991 (now out on black format or file). If you like the likes of Dead an Dance and Bel Canto or even Danielle Dax you have a punchers chance of loving this beautiful if lofi dream pop wonder.

Brannten Schnüre - Die Stadt Als Garten Hauntological drone-folk excursions revolving the concept of the city as a garden. Beautiful german Sprechgesang which IMO transcends language really.

I LOVE that album. I keep meaning to get the earlier one but I resent going to Discogs for it.

Algebra Suicide - An Explanation for That Flock of Crows Amazing relentless bass and hotplate drum sizzle.

All their songs are spoken word, I'm just choosing a couple of seven inches but there's a couple of excellent comps on Dark Entries with one just out and the first one coming with a live DVD filmed in 1984 latched to it's grey belly like a remora.

Algebra Suicide - Little Dead Bodies like a brutally minimal nexus of Smith and Reed.

Mark Gouldthorpe and Simon Hinkler - Message From A Dead Man (1985) One of those word of mouth records seemingly unknown outside a few trusted cadres. This is scripted after Kafka and spins a delicate web betwixt post punk, New Beat, desert exotica and psychedelia.
