I LOVE Jim White's Searching For a Wrong Eyed Jesus.

There was also a decent German documentary/interview with the dude from Sparklehorse, but I had to watch it in like 6 separate youtube vide.

The Story of Creation was solid.
Until the Light Takes Us (not a Black Metal fan but the scene was absolutely fascinating)
Decline of the Western Civilization 1 & 2

And special mention to the greatest ever music Doc - Heavy Metal Parking Lot.

Krautrock - a must see one! I have it on DVD since it came out but it's on YT as well. Saw it again yesterday night after I heard that Edgar Froese has died.

What Difference Does It Make: A Film About Making Music

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_EDnMFJiv8U

A doco about a bunch of songwriters starting out at a music school (red bull music academy) in New York. It's a bit hit and miss and some of the people there ain't that connected. Then they show a guy in the subway that does it for the love and just blows them all out of the water on so many levels. Still quite an interesting doco for music lovers.

Cosey Fanni Tutti Lecture RBMA 2010

Just her talking, you can get it as a podcast off soundcloud as well.

A great listen, powerful, thought provoking and a nice insight into an artist that shames the sort of empty and trite guff that emerges from most musician mouths in music docs. A decent amount of gear chat and technological musing too.

I listened to this with the older kids again yesterday after 4 years and we had a great discussion about the content and some of the ideas. Though I hold my hand up to being a rabid fan of Chris & Cosey, Carter Tutti, Throbbing Gristle and all the splinters and solo projects going right back to the late 70's (I saw TG the first time round). The kids are huge Chris & Cosey fans so they loved hearing her speak and one of the older girls loves to crow over her sister that she got to see and meet the reformed TG in 2009 (though I remember her not really enjoying it, since she was only 11 but she tell the story differently :D ).

I don't imagine she'd ever agree to such a thing but Cosey along with Vashti Bunyan are two of the artists I'd think would make great subjects for biopics.

More a primer than a documentary but if you are interested in this sort of future retro, strobes, blood and glitter and don't know where to start or just fancy kicking back for an hour streaming this to your big screen and watching the nicely matched music and visuals, while sipping a nice whisky (or stropping your open razor ??? ) then that's fine too.

Giallo Disco Records present... A Brief History Of Horror Disco Part 2 - The Revenge

There was a part 1, that covered 80's stuff but it's been blocked on copyright grounds but since the musik is what matters, here's the tracklisting;

1978 - Riz Ortolani - Il Corpo Di Linda - La Ragazza Dal Pigiama Gallo OST
1979 - Fabio Frizzi - Escape From The Flesh Eaters - Zombi 2 OST
1981 - Nico Fidenco - The Magis is in progress - Zombie Holocaust OST
1981 - Andrzej Korzynski - The Night The Screaming Stops - Possession OST
1982 - Claudio Simonetti / Fabio Pignatelli / Massimo Morante - Flashing - Tenebrae OST
1982 - John Carpenter & Alan Howarth - Chariots Of Pumpkins - Halloween III OST
1983 - Klaus Schulze - Surrender - Angst O
