Hi I'm yaksox
I've been on and off mucking around with guitars since I wuz 16. Mostly off, but really been getting back into it this last six months.
I know I'll never be a rock star and am cool with that. I just enjoy making sounds and using guitars and effects as a way of exploring creativity.
I'm an australian guy working in Seoul.
Here's my geetars.
http://www.flickr.com/photos/sunnybreak ... 7/sizes/l/ - bigger.
From left - two basses. I used to mainly play bass. Jazz bass copy, brand name is Swing, a korean company. Then a Musicvox Spacecadet - that the gold sparkle at the back.
A Dano Pro (great little guitar). A Korean copy of a Rickenbacker. CIJ Jag. Danelectro DC 59.

hello, greetings
I think I've seen those Rick copies under different names too. Is it the kind with a really wide nut? How's it feel?

Hi, yeah - that'd never occurred to me - that was the first six string I bought here after playing bass only, so the width at the head fet normal to me, but thinking about it, may have contributed to it being a bit difficult to hit bar chords on.rickenmetal wrote: hello, greetings

Hehe, thanks. I know it's light on off-sets. I like unusual guitars and ones that sound like they're worth more than the price tag. It's kind of expensive to get a hold of Fenders here, but occasionally the odd locally made axe will pop up that looks interesting/BenHagerty wrote: Welcome! Amazing collection!

There's not as much of a 2nd hand market as there is in oz or the us. Sometimes you can pick up a bargain on craigslist seoul or here:

If one lined up with when you were visiting you'd do well.
I got the ric copy and the music vox bass at a little shop out the end of one of the subway lines.

It's like a remainders store for a company that exports to the West. Those were pretty cheap - equiv. of US 200 each.
I tell ya - if you can haul something like that back with you in carry-on luggage, and another in a flight case, you'd make a tidy little sum selling them in Australia.
I've been having a peek at ebay.au - and f*ck! the prices that guitars and equipment goes for there is outrageous.

Dude. Asia expats represent! Anyway, I'm bound to make it to Seoul sometime next year. Korean guitars are great! I hope to grab one while I'm there. Should come to HK to pick up a Fender or Gibson -- by far the cheapest place to get them outside of North America.
