Re: greetings from a new member
Thanks BenHagerty.
FUZZ_KING: I doubt I'll ever need another amp. All the bases are covered. I found all of them in the greater Austin/San Antonio area too; mostly from little shops. All but the Super Reverb are serviced and they all sound great. I don't use the Super Reverb much anymore out of respect for the old caps. I don't wanna blow the transformer up. Once I have the money together, I will get it properly serviced.
I used to gig with the super reverb when I was in college. I guess I was lucky one of the caps didn't fail. Now, I mainly use the Princeton and the reverb unit with a fuzz pedal for performances. It's an amazing sound. I'm afraid to take the deluxe out, but I do on occasion.
All that equipment is 12 years of buying and trading and paying off credit card debt. Since I was 16, all of my spare money has gone into music equipment. In 1998, I found a refin 1959 strat. At the time I was in love with the idea of owning an old strat so I saved all my money and bought it. That was when you could get a decent refin at a reasonable price. I fooled myself into thinking it played great, but it didn't; it sounded really good though. Years of playing had totally worn the fretboard out and it really couldn't hold a refret. I held on to the guitar for a few years and sold it for a modest gain. The money from that guitar made it possible for me to get some of the stuff seen the the photos.

Great looking equipment! Those amps are delicious....
BTW, I currently work at a grocery store, and I save all my extra money for gear, too.

holy crap that's quite a collection!
Before bringing up drugs with your kids, hook your turntables up to a wah-wah pedal.

I'm glad there are a lot of guitar players pursuing technique as diligently as they possibly can, it leaves this whole other area open to people like me.

Re: greetings from a new member
Thanks to everyone for the kind words.
I'm a Fender amp freak. Sometimes it's hard for me to justify having so many guitars (I think I have seven total), but I never think twice about my amps.
Other than four guitars that I'm keeping come heaven or high water (the 12 string, the duosonic, the jazz bass and the purple strat), I've always had a revolving collection of guitars and I do not regret selling or trading any that I've had in the past. If a guitar is collecting dust in the closet, then I'm happy to pass it on to someone else, but it would take an economic meltdown for me to sell any of the amps that I have.

I really dig on that duo-sonic!
I used to be cool, now I just complain about prices.
