not a big fan of the green neither.
Maybe a pearloid guard would make me change my mind on that very one.

second that. pearloid or mint. maybe even white. its possible that black or even gold anodized could work pretty well with the colour. its hard to tell without experimenting.
Personally I kinda think that the brown tortoise shell looks gross on any and every guitar. And the redder vintage style tortoise shell would make it look like a christmas guitar.

Trans green is definitely a great color , although a black pickguard would look better with it than a tortoise one. (seen a Jaguar bass with that color , looks amazing)

It looks better, but I get the feeling you'd have a hard time getting it quite that colour. I imagine a slightly darker blue in real life though. what you've photoshopped is pretty light and silvery. The blue tortoise shell is an interesting idea though. I wonder if it would be possible to make a tortoise shell appearance in unnatural colours like that.

I actually LIKE the green finish but I also like the pearloid suggestion.
What about the anodized gold look?

I dig it I think a gold guard or even possibly a plain brushed aluminum guard would good on it. One of my favorite finishes from the 60's import department store guitars was the green burst they used. Come to think of it Burns used it too. Green in my favorite color though so I'm' biased.

I like the trans green, am considering it myself for a parts Jazzmaster I'm hopefully going to put together soon enough...
Out of curiosity, how did you get the trans green finish in the dressing room? Is it just photoshopping or is there a way to use custom colours?
