Strat+Jag=Stag

Post by FightingPlankton » Thu Nov 07, 2013 12:59 pm

My buddy keeps trying to convince me to play a strat. Told him i never would, then I designed this in Photoshop... Wondering why no one else has done it. I put mini humbuckers because that's my preference, but u could just as easily leave the strat pickups or add jag/jazzmaster pickups.

What is acoustic? Oh, you means a grandpa's guitars? A grandpa's guitars? That's for pussies and grandpas. I think you know it.

would basically be a strat w/ jag plates added on with a custom pickguard. but it looks sooo much better than a regular strat imo.

Maybe its just me but it kinda reminds me of an old univox, like a hi flyer.
This is my signature. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

Dave Wronski's Slackercaster:

Elk strat copy:

(further searching reminds me that I saved both of those pics from this thread: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=70464)

If you think your friend will be satisfied with you just having a strat-shaped guitar, you could also look into the pawn shop '70s Stratocaster Deluxe or the Squier '51.

If you build, make sure the the arm contour on the strat body doesn't get in the way of the trem tailpiece. :)

I've never liked the top portion of the Strat pickguard (or the Bass VI for that matter) so this is exactly up my ballpark. I want this.

That wasnt a fender. Was built by a UK builder, and the body was from a bass. Its huge!

You put some Jazz pups in there and I'll buy one.
