Both the AN1x & SY-77 are selling on eBay for $500-$600 each so I feel like I made a good purchase.

Hmmm. My DW-8000 has been dead lately. No sounds/patches are heard just pops from the keys at loud enough volume. Could it be the battery?

I'm not an expert on synths by any means. I'm primarily a bassist and guitarist on occasion, but I bought an Arturia Microbrute to use on a project I'm working on and I've been blown away by the sounds you can create with it. It's the first synthesizer I've ever owned and although it's inexpensive, tiny and almost toy-like in appearance, it sounds amazing. The sequencer is a blast to use too.

super cool, microkorgs are awesome for getting into synths.
so my next BIG gear purchase (that is buying gear for a large amount of money) is gonna be a vintage ms-20.
my fav fckin synth all time.
I think it's gonna be with me here within a week, so I'll keep you posted. probably I'll flip my mopho keyboard to fund it eventually, so see you in the FS section soon...

Re: The Synth Thread...
bought a moog minitaur recently. will probably pick up the arturia minibrute se before xmas unless someone has a better recommendation for an inexpensive hardware sequencer with a keyboard. i was looking at the mopho w/ keyboard but i don't care for using menu screens.

Re: The Synth Thread...
Yeah. I have the mopho keyboard (which i'm thinking of getting rid of), and there is virtually no menu diving involved in sculpting a sound, basically everething is right there in front of you on knobs.
But if you want to use it to sequence other synths via midi, you have to look elsewhere, because unfortunately it won't send sequencer data on the midi out...
On the other hand I don't recall the minibrute having a sequencer implemented in it.

Re: The Synth Thread...
the SE version of the minibrute has a sequencer instead of an arpeggiator.

Circa 2011
Sorry for the crappy old cell phone pics. Mobius and Adrenalinn are the only things I've gotten rid of. Motu Soundcard is gone now, too.
Same stuff, new studio, within the last year or two:
