That Henderson tune is actually quite basic as far as blues harp playing goes.
Agreed..
Maybe we should start a fresh thread " greatest gob iron licks"
Heres a great one I cut my teeth on..

Aside from the Henderson song, others that influenced me are this, which inspired me to get a Bb harp:

I got to see Lester Butler once before he passed:

This is my favorite James Harman tune. He borrowed my amp for a gig once, I asked him why he never played this song live. He said it was the only song he ever got a bad review on, so he didn't play it anymore. He was an odd cat. I love the solo tuned harp, then he swaps out for a standard diatonic.

Oof. You need to try a Hohner Special 20 or a Suzuki Manji. I've had a couple bandleaders who like the Oskars and had me order a bunch over the years. I found them to be a bit leaky, or at least, it seems like they are. I think one of them liked the slightly wider hole spacing. Hmm... here's a song from one of them. I'm playing a Squier Vintage Modified Jazzmaster Special on this (rhythm guitar)

I'm not on this recording but here's the late Walkin Cane Mark, on a cover of a Captain Beefheart version of an old Howlin' Wolf song:

Let's do the Hawg!

Yup, slightly wider spacing felt better after my 1st harp "hohner".. Also felt more responsive.
Got a full set of harps by Jambone? "birthday present". Wouldnt recommend.

I got one of them Suzuki Manjis from a friend for my 50th birthday a few years back. Seems a step up in quality from my Hohner Marine Bands and Blues Harps, but just being a dabbler I think its quality could be wasted on me.
