Sure I get it...there's huge demand for retro gear/sounds..and this has made a Juno 60 cost ten times what it cost used in 2007. Old people with money..always fucking stuff up..and what for? 15K for a JP8 to sit in their underpants trying to play the Save A Prayer bender part.

Anyway back in this century..this looks interesting to me: UDO Super Six binaural polysynth https://youtu.be/3Yi3HiXWjVI
Dude, I saw that video last night, and it's REALLY got it going on. :w00t:

Wow! That sounds wicked epic!!! I'd be interested for Nick to get his hands on one back in the SonicState studio. Those doubled up oscillators for a pseudo-chorus sound is just amazing. Is it just me, or is the filter kind of Roland-esque?

The last year or so I've been in the Eurorack mindset, now, within the space of two weeks, I've heard two hardware synths that I really want... :fp:

Any opinions here on the Behringer Neutron? Looks like a perfect next step for patching with my Microbrute, I'm not sure I'm ready to get into full eurorack yet...

lol, I have plugged back in! I hadn't made much music in a while, and I had just been using my laptop the whole time, but I bought a hardware mixer and dug out my old pedals, and now I'm back!

Hey, any recommends on a free VST minimoog? How about electric pianos?

I got a new laptop, and I'm doing an experiment. My recording computer is in storage, along with my softube and arturia plugs and S1. Also it's 32 bit, because it came with 32 bit win7 for some goddamn reason. So I've decided to get a small interface and use nothing but free software just to see how far it'll take me, in the name of shits and giggles. I wouldn't feel the least bit bad pirating the software I already paid for, but let's try something else in 64 bit. I love Studio one, but the free version won't do VST, so it's out. I've decided to try Tracktion 7. I've got my bread and butter effects mostly, and for synths I've got OBXD and DEXED, as well as a JX8P plug. Want a 64 bit polyphonic minimoog that's free, if anyone knows of one. I did grab the minmogue VA one I'd used ages ago, and the Mr. Ray and Mr. Tramp plugs for pianos, which I've always loved. But it'd be nice to get 64 bit plugs if they're free.

Thanx doodz

I quite like it. It's a very good monosynth (paraphonic actually) for its price, with an interesting character.
While it's not anything groundbreaking sound wise, it can deliver some powerful and 'aggressive' sounds.
Also the patching capabilities are quite extensive for such a small synth, so if you end up expanding to other patchable synths or modules, you can't go wrong with it.

I don't know about the bit rate, but I have an Arturia Minimoog on my iPad that I paid $20 for, I think, and it's actually quite great. I always think it sucks but then I match the patches on my Behringer Model D and it's actually surprisingly similar in sound and character. Maybe there's something like that for you?

Yeah, I could buy another copy of the arturia minimoog, but I have one on my packed up machine and don't feel like buying it twice. And it would kinda undermine the point of my little experiment. The MinimogueVA is actually pretty on point, I just don't wanna have to use a bridge if I don't have to is all.

My current setup. Arturia Minibrute 2, Elektron Model:Samples, Modal Skulpt in though an Arturia Audiofuse into Logic. (franken-P-Bass, SQJMJM and partcaster strat with aluminium neck also pictured).

Nice setup there.
Serious synth gas here for some time now, im thinking about something cheap and simple for starters. Like Skulpt, IK Uno or Microfreak, for stuff like Autechre, BoC, Clark etc what would best suited of those three or any of them?
I like Skulpt best so far but Uno would be cheaper and easier to get, microfreak would be easier to get too but in the same price range as Skulpt.
Arp and sequencer is must but im not ready to dive into sampling yet.
Sorry if this is stupid question as im just starting started

I considered the Skulpt, Uno and Microfreak just like you (all three look great in different ways), but went with the Skulpt because I was looking for something small ( I’m deliberately limiting myself to the space in the setup picture) and I wanted a polyphonic digital synth to complement and contrast with the Minibrute 2 (analog mono). So for me, the choice was easy.

I picked the Skulpt up second hand (via Reverb, from a seller in Sweden), because I wanted the white one, and everywhere that sells them new only had black.

I’ve only scratched the surface with the Skulpt, but there’s a hell of a lot of power inside that little box.

Are these you playing? These sound awesome! Also, I love the vibe of your synth area and how it's lit. Looks really cool :)
