Looking at this picture gives me an instant migraine. It is like walking into a Bed, Bath, and Beyond. The lighting in there always triggers a headache. Or maybe it's just that I am in a Bed, Bath, and Beyond...PJazzmaster wrote:

Was surprised to see all of these pictures in here. I could have sworn the forums had a rule against obscenity.

I'm not gonna lie, I think this one is slightly awesome. Probably because I have a major soft spot for the Carvin AP-6.zhivago wrote:

Well, the mods don't suit me, but I'm sure that it's still a mean guitar in the application the mods were meant for. I'd definitely rock it until I had to change the strings. Stupid Floyd rose trems. How does it play?SansRegret wrote:This is a 77' my friend bought a month or two ago..

Yeah, its not too butchered compared to some of the posts on this thread. I haven't had a chance to play it yet (going to school in a different city), but he says it plays well. Came with the original bridge, and I've wound new pickups for it, so the plan is to put it back to mostly original..Unicorn Warrior wrote:Well, the mods don't suit me, but I'm sure that it's still a mean guitar in the application the mods were meant for. That's actually a Kahler, a modification that will always substantially devalue any guitar, while some consider Floyd Roses to be an upgrade (not on Offsets, mind you!).
I have no use for either type, but the Kahler has long been regarded as a tone sucker, and it requires the digging of a pretty substantial trench in the face of its six-stringed victim. Very difficult mod to reverse (impossible to do so invisibly -even with an opaque refinish- as the paint inevitably sinks around the filled-in rout).
Still, many have done so, and report a very noticeable tonal upgrade.

Re: "Why did you do it? Why did you do this thing to me?"
Luckily, for this Mustang, disguising this shouldn't be too hard as the mustang bridge and trem system might actually cover the entire cavity. At worse it may have to be filled. Fortunately it looks like this guitar could use a refin anyway as it's original finish was stripped away.Jellyfishin'Musician wrote:That's actually a Kahler, a modification that will always substantially devalue any guitar, while some consider Floyd Roses to be an upgrade (not on Offsets, mind you!).
