Howdy Everybody
I was checking out videos of bands I like and came across some live TV appearances from the band Inca Babies.

I noticed the singers Jaguar, looks like Charcoal Frost with a black pickguard/pickup covers and a maple fretboard?!?!
Now, from what I've seen of this band live, the guitars generally tend to be cheaper vintage guitars (at the time anyway) like Mustangs and European Archtops and whatnot, so this must be an old Jaguar. I've just never heard of or seen a CF maple fretboard Jaguar?
Custom Shop? One of a Kind? where could this have come from?

Re: Mystery Jaguar??
it could have been a 70s maple mustang neck, since it has dots and two string trees.
Interesting indeed.

Re: Mystery Jaguar??
Agreed, it looks like it was probably a partsguar. Black guard and pickup covers point to 70's, at which point the Mustang/Bronco/Duosonic necks had maple boards and black dots so it's probably one of those.
The artist formerly known as mbene085.

Re: Mystery Jaguar??
The dots look pearl lid. Logo is small and may just say "Fender" so could be a replacement. I have seen black on black 70's Jags with Maple necks but it had black block markers. It's also possible that as relatively few Jags were made in the 70s it was an order made up from parts left over.... I'm sure you could probably get one after '75 if you went through the right people. If so they needed a maple short scale neck and that one was available so they used it.
So many cool things about that clip - I love that trashy sound. The Jag sounds cool and that bass sound - I love that 70s growl from those Precisions.
Edit:
I think the guitarist took the neck off his Mustang - look at this clip. What a brilliant noise it is too!
