This is looking great! I love the grain on the fretboard...never seen one like that!

Fine tuned the rear contour and drilled the headstock for the tuners as well as the body for the neck. Drilling the headstock always makes me a bit tense, but for a 12 string the anxiety is doubled.

Wow, this looks killer so far! Can’t wait to see it all come together! I’d love a custom color XII with a matching headstock - you can go wrong with a good sunburst though!

Headstock decal applied then another coat of Tru-oil applied. The little ding next to the D tuning hole has already been sanded out.

Pickguard template made and PG routed, still need holes for screws and the rotary switch
Body sprayed with sealer, neck getting more Tru-Oil
Rear of body ferrules drilled. I usually prefer them more even, but this is what the plan shows.

Re: Electric XII build
This is seriously seriously impressive. You've built this really fast, too.
Can't wait to see the finished product.

The fingerboard is Rosewood. It's from Madagascar, not Brazil.

Re: Electric XII build
Ongoing progress with my first 3 color burst. Using 1500 grit mesh, I sanded back the red lightly to create uniformity, then using a preval sprayer, I sprayed the black which is currently drying. I will use the same mesh on the black before applying the clear. I got a bit heavy handed with the black around the upper horn, both front and back, which is where the mesh comes in. When it's done, the colors will blend a bit better and show a more equal transition from one to the other.

A little mock up with the PG, I just wanted to see how it was shaping up. I still need to fine tune the PG so it fits the neck and is straight. The second pic is with clear coats applied. Now the wait begins....

installed tuners today. Worked on the finish on the body as well. I need to load up the pick guard and drill it for the rotary switch and screws.
