As per this post http://www.offsetguitars.com/forums/vie ... 7&t=109646, I thought it about time I contributed (after being a member for only 5 years!).
I'm currently in the market for something older, Jag/JM-wise, so yesterday I went to view these...
The jury's out as to whether I'll be making a purchase (as I don't think the owner and I are on the same page at the moment re. originality/price), but we'll see...

Re: '60's Jag/JM
Awesome guitars. The Jag is definitely a refin I'd say. It looks too new and shiny for a 65 which would be more of a targetburst (brighter colors, no visible grain).
Nice JM too. The refin looks alright, but I'd certainly go for another color. I doubt the guard is original, looks like a replica from portlandmusic (I have one and they're great).
On both guitars, I wonder if the neck was refinished also (looks like it). Hopefully the pickups are original in both (it also looks like it)
If it was my choice and the price was right, I'd go for the Jazzy I guess (I like JMs better than Jags so I'm pretty biased).

Looks like an old Selmer 'croc-skin' case that the Jazz is sitting in ( & the Jag leaning against..same case, maybe ? ).
These often came with Fender guitars that were imported into the UK without cases ( to keep the price down a bit, apparently !).
Nice guitars, both of them..good luck, mate !
