NGD DOINA Melodia 1- Bizarre romanian Guitar
Hey,
found that beauty in the web and found it weird & somehow pretty cool!
Never seen a Model like this and thats why i need help.
My basic idea is that it could be a mash between a hacked kay and teisco guitar..
What do you people think? Somehow i feel pretty good about it.
xx

That tremolo looks like a fucking industrial hole punch!!
Kinda cool guitar though, in a weird, rudimentary way
You think you can't, you wish you could, I know you can, I wish you would. Slip inside this house as you pass by.

Re: Help me to identify this weird Firebird Copy
looking at the string arrangement (2+2+2) it could be an instrument used for arabic music (Saz) or such...?

I can kinda see a bit of NR firebird in there- very cool, whatever it is. It's not in any of my books- maybe the Cheesy Guitars Facebook group could help you out?

Of course you should! My rule with guitars is - if i have never seen one before and it's a weird shape and the price is right, I'm gonna buy it.
I can't decide if this is Japanese or European...trem looks Japanese but it's kind of especially fruity and odd, quite italian looking?

I just noticed the neck joint and plate.
They put a whole lot of effort into making it so ugly and impractical, one can only admire them.

Haha, that is so true!
And what is that Bridge-piece with the black "knob" doing on there?
That whole thing is a beautiful misery.

Re: Help me to identify this weird Firebird Copy
I think the lever on the bridge is for a mute system. The foam/felt is red so it's kinda hard to see.
This thing looks really familiar to me, I vaguely remember seeing one before or a very similar model. I don't think it's home made, for whatever reason the finish screams mass produced to me. If I had to guess I'd say it was German.

Re: Help me to identify this weird Firebird Copy
A Bozuk Saz, paired strings like the bozouki, but just three courses like the saz. Modifications like this were fairly common in the psychedelic music of Turkey and the general area. I think I have seen a video of Erkin Koray playing a guitar modified as such.
Most likely to get a bit of buzz like the Jawari of the sitar's bridge, adjust it so it just touches the string and you get some buzz for a more middle eastern sound, can often be heard on the Turkish psychedelic.
Looks like a fun bit of gear, on the fence on the overall aesthetic.
Logic gates based on billiard-ball computer designs have also been made to operate using live soldier crabs of the species Mictyris guinotae in place of the billiard balls.

Everything said here seems in the right ballpark.oid wrote: ↑Sat Oct 20, 2018 2:52 pmA Bozuk Saz, paired strings like the bozouki, but just three courses like the saz.
