Ive won the auction !!!
NGD coming soooooooon!

:? :? :?

I've got a band project going and we are reaching the psych-vibe at the moment,
maybe it will find its place in our recordings.

:w00t:
Yessss!
Some possible inspiration here- Zork's modded Egmond, plus a link nearby to it in use with his band.
This is all reminding me how much I want to do the same, I have several potential "victim" instruments. ;D

Nice one! Let us know if you find any identifying features, the underside of the pickup or volume pot might give away its country of origin, at least.

Also, uh, can I call dibs on that '70s strap if it's included and you wanna sell it?

He already shipped her, i hope with the strap.
But even without i am really exited! :?

That Egmond sounds great,
i mean if this one sounds even close than it would be a psych machine.

A guy from that cheesy guitar fb-site found it!
"Doïna Melodia, 1 pu fixed cable- complete overhaul and repair
now owned by luthier René v.d.Vorst, The Netherlands"
http://lordbizarre.com/Romania.htm?fbcl ... #par437754

& every part seems original! :o

Fantastic. Good catch.

Can't wait for a report on its tuning stability and general ergonomics.

Yeah I'd love some stuff from that area as well. Orfeus gear especially, also maybe a Jolana Tornado. 8)

On Friday the postman delivered me the parcel.
That Guitar was freaking dirty and my idea is that it has been in a "wetish" environment for some part of its live.
Maybe the hardware is that rusty cause of it...
Before i took the pics I've been cleaning it up.
That was messy!

But yeah, i am just 1/2 happy,
my problems so far with it is:

1) Neck is the thickest one I've ever had
2) It has no Trusrod
3) It is the smallest body on earth
4) Has like 13-49 or something Flatwound strings on
5) No Sitar-izing, just when i use the mute

I am not sure how long it will stay at my place..
What would you people do to make it better playing?

I'd just get a proper bridge on there...something like this maybe: http://www.guitarpartsresource.com/imag ... 26-001.jpg, sort the action, get lighter strings, and get it playing reasonably. Something like this is never gonna be a strat, but you've gotta embrace the weirdness and they can be fun to mess around on for a different vibe.

No trussrod is...absolutely no problem at all. I don't know about other people, but how often do you actually touch one? I certainly don't. You only really mess with the truss if you're doing super fine adjustments on a guitar that's already got a great fretjob, low action, etc. If the neck is warped, clamp it into the correct position, wrap an electric blanket round it and heat it up

I mean, if all else fails you could tune all the strings to the same note and play it with a slide, Iggy and The Stooges style? :D
