Absolutely touching, everything about this story. And especially since you still got it! Right on Gramps, right on you! Beautiful.
You ever end up with that refret? I just can't bring myself to do one, not knowing how the fretboard would handle it (or be handled).

It's never going anywhere, regardless of what financial value it holds/ends up holding, it means more to me to have it.

Nope, no refret and I'll hold out as long as possible. It's used sparingly, mainly to record so it's still got some mileage in it. I'd love to use it every day to gig, but the value prohibits that sadly.
