NGD - 1966 Yamaha SG3

I just got this beautiful vintage yamaha in a trade for a Japanese telecaster. They seem to be pretty rare outside of Japan so when i saw it posted on Facebook marketplace i jumped at the opportunity to grab it. It's missing the headstock logo and i think the tuners have been replaced but other than that it's pretty original.
If anyone on here would be able to point me in the direction of somewhere i could get a replacement headstock decal that would be amazing! Also i'm guessing the finish on these is poly but if anyone could clarify what type of finish these have that'd be great.

Nice looking guitar
It looks like the neck has been replaced
They usually have the serial number stamped into the fret board up at the dusty end
How well does it play ?
Have you looked at this thread on old Yamahas yet ?

I had wondered about the lack of serial number, are there any other factors that would indicate it having been re-necked?
It plays really nicely which is more important to me than 100% originality, so i won't be terribly upset if that's the case.

Really wish I lived somewhere cool enough to end up with stuff like that for sale literally ever.
Top three gear regrets I have is not buying the Dakota Red one for $400 that guitar center had for like 3 months before some smart person saw the amazing deal and punched before I had the chance. I did have an SA-50 for a while and while I really wish I’d kept it, at the time I just couldn’t get into it, which sucks because it’s something I wanted for years before I got it.
Good guitar, good deal dude. These things are the cat’s pajamas.

Hmmm ... interesting bridge design. I reckon that might have wider use on some other guitars we know. Height-adjustable roller bridge saddles ... what's not to like ?

The neck has been replaced. Clues are a Fender style neck heal truss rod adjustment (seen in the picture above), a slightly wonky headstock with weird string direction, really thick finger board, no side dots. But, it looks like whoever made the neck tried to make something close to the original. The guitars are 25.5” scale, but they have 22 frets with no overhang, so its a unique neck that you can’t just stick on a standard replacement neck.
