Here's what's supposedly an early example. It looks like the headstock shape carried over from the prototype.

It gives me some perverse satisfaction that the very earliest Jazzmasters had maple fretboards and strat knobs.
But I guess I have to get my shit together and pick up an amber switch tip one of these days.

Maybe it's me, but do I spot telecaster with JM pickups before the JM had JM pickups?

So I those "paralel universe" jazz-tele's are actually just a recreation of a '57 tele. Jazzmasters are just offset telecasters.

I've seen this countless times yet never thought about the fact that it has a Strat trem...why are people complaining about the new Jazzmasters then?
