NGD (Part II) 66 Jag LPB

Thanks everybody for all the nice comments on the earlier post of my offset collection and this new (and last) addition to the family.

I took a few pics that I thought I would share.

I was able to locate a vintage mute plate in great condition for $65 on the bay and its coming my way soon. Was happy to see the original mounting screws, plunger and spring are still in the Jag!

Hardly any wear on the frets, pickups are strong, and it's essentially in showroom condition with the exception of two small nicks in the finish. Does have quite a bit of checking going on front and back!

I have a 64 JM in LPB but it is really greened out and looks like Ocean Turquoise. This Jag hasn't yellowed nearly as much and still looks blue!

Love the Jags 24" scale length. I play and write surf music and its so easy to do rapid alternating pick attacks ala Dick Dale on a Jag not to mention the incredible twang!

Probably has 10 round wound on it but will change out when I put the Mute back on. Might go with 11 or 12 Pyramid Flat Wounds!

Cheers!

It's truly perfect. B&B on a LPB Jag...I don't think there's a better aesthetic for it. That's just plain awesome.

This is great, and a special thank you for the really good shots of the wiring. I need to redo my parts Jag and this is very helpful to see how to route it.

My dream jag

Yeah, I need this guitar. I don’t want it. I haven’t listed after it for decades. I don’t just look at pictures every day wishing one would magically fall into my lap. I need this guitar.

Oh my god, it’s not only the coolest looking guitar of all time, but it’s the coolest looking thing I’ve ever seen in my life.

Ha! Yes, great Jag!!! Good for the Jag to be in your hands!
Congratulations to this nice guitar.
I love the look of the finish cracks.

Honestly that's just as phenomenal.

The entire blue/green spectrum is perfect on any Jag, especially the B&Bs IMO.

Thanks for posting. Brings back fond memories of my long departed early 66 LPB Jag (dots and binding). Slightly greened out LPB is my favorite Fender custom color, even though I don't currently own one.

Lovely looking Jag!

Were they using poly for their finishes by this stage btw?

No. I believe all 66 and 67 Fenders are Nitro and they went to poly sometime in 68. Creates a rather narrow 1 &1/2 to 2 year window period where Jags and the other offsets had binding, blocks and a nitro finish!

Wow! What an amazing thing and in such a great condition!
Always been a big fan of the LPB and love the 66's with B&B a bit extra.
