late ngd/a new neck for bilinda

Post by postchrist » Thu Apr 09, 2020 6:54 pm

this came to me a few months back thanks to dren68 and thisisnickpaige - until today it had an allparts jgro neck... 65(?) duo sonic body and some vintage mustang bits with a very well done butcher mod. made an offer on a 65 mustang neck on ebay the other day, threw it on today, and my thirst for a vintage jag is finally gone. :D

Looks great. Nice to have it all period correct again. Well done!

thanks y’all! i think this one is easily my favorite i’ve had around, partially for nostalgic reasons perhaps - i spent hundreds of hours as a teenager messing with a ‘64/65 lpb jag at a shop in austin(thing ended up in the hands of ol mr. corgan funny enough) that i fell madly in love with but couldn’t scratch together the cash for and haven’t been able to stop thinking about since. to the best of my recollection this feels pretty damn close to it - i haven’t been able to put it down since it came together. very inspiring to play.

it’s a neat feeling!! kinda like fender’s whole “parallel universe” thing, it feels like a guitar that could have been an old factory issue. might try and hunt down an old mustang pickup for it and throw the one from my musicmaster bass on as well, just to get it ‘there’.

Looks awesome!

I've always wanted to build something like this, Mustang body, JM Trem and bridge, and drop some mini-humbuckers in it. One day...
