Fender 59 jazzmaster originaluty

Post by Fender96 » Wed Sep 02, 2020 12:12 pm

Hi guys!

I recently bought this beauty, and I really dig it! I need help to verify something. The body has 11 holes, but the guard has 13, so 2 of the screws by the cavity screws into some small pieces of wood. I have been told that this has been done at fender for an extremely limited time, and that jazzmasters from this small period was sold with both an option for gold anodized or tort guard, and therefor this has been assembled in a transition period. Can anybody verify the authenticity by looking at these photos? And if the solder joints are untouched?

Looks like someone put a newer guard onto an older body - the pieces (other than the wood blocks) look accurate to me!

Looks cool need bigger photos...but the solder joint thing, half the time its impossible to tell. If you are careful, can solder well and it gets left a couple of years you will never tell.
