Value of a '65 Jazzmaster Neck (custom colour)

Hey guys!

I recently found a jazzmaster neck (april '65).. original frets, finish etc. other than having a set of different tuners, it's all stock.

It also has a black factory painted headstock.

Any thoughts to the value? We are trying to come to a fair valuation on it.

Worth as much as any other jazzmaster neck to most people, but I could imagine someone with a factory black body paying up to 4-5k. Very hard to sell for that, but I'm sure you could get 3k on Reverb easily

I was about to pull a trigger on that one, but then the seller raised the price by 300 I'll pass given the overall condition, but I had a cool idea for a partsmaster

It's definitley worth more to somebody with a factory black body missing a neck, but we're talking the slimmest of possibilities there.

It has broader appeal to people who already have a '65 JM project and like black, to build a restoration around that neck.

With even standard natural-finish JM necks from that era easily bringing $2,500, I would have to think at least $3-4K on that black neck.

They said they can sell me the whole guitar for 16K... They put it together themselves.
