it began life in my hands off of ebay for 300 bucks looking like this

but i filled her in, had a new pickguard made, sold the rights to my first born son for 2 knobs, got a seymour duncan duckbucker pickup, tore the cover off it and put the proper solid one back on.  I love the bridge on this thing.  I play with flatwound .13's and the thing stays in tune better than any of my other guitars after extended sessions.

come on guys its ok to post them it is offset. see!

robroe,  although Broncos do nothing for me, I just love the fact that you love them and are excited by them.
great looking collection

I spent ages looking for one of them on the bay, and finally found one only to be outbid at the last minute  >:( I'm still on the lookout though
I love your one

I had two (now sold) that were stolen from my car trunk about 2 years ago and I ended up finding both in a pawn shop about 8 months later. Phew!  :D

I have one now that was stripped so I'm having it refinned in pink. Should be ready very early in Jan 07 so once I have it I'll post photos.

I had a '68 that was MINT MINT MINTY (L@@K!) with hang tag and silver case.

It's in some of these pics, bottom row second from left:

I know this was said over & over in the thread you just linked to, (I'm too new here, it was before my time) but OH MY GOD!!! :o    That's the kind of basement I'd like to have for my house someday!  Does NASA have any openings for struggling cartoonists?

I bought this guitar as a project.  The neck was from another body, no pickguard, no elecs...I think I did a fine job resurrecting it.  I ended up selling it though... :'(

How's the trem on those Broncos?  Better, worse, same as various Fender trems?  I'm considering putting a trem on my Squier '51.  Up until now I was considering a Jazz or Mustang trem just for kicks, but now I'm intrigued by the Bronco's unless it has a route like a strat.  I'm not up for that kind of project...

You certainly DID do a fine job resurrecting it, Aug!

Don't worry about having sold it, though.  You gave it a new lease on life, which I'm sure it's currently enjoying. I've had plenty with a similar fate:

Personally, I like the bronco trem...alot of folks don't because it's a pain to string, if you get a little crazy, you'll easily bump the tremplate down off the posts and jack up the tuning and they have a "jangle" sound to them.  Also, aside from the plate and dish, the other parts are nearly impossible to find.

And it does require some routing. Not as much as a $trat, but routing none-the-less....

I'll probably go with the Jazz trem for that.  It seems like the easiest route for a beginner like me...
Yep, regardless of the model of guitar, you just can't go wrong with blonde/tortoiseshell, says I!

And Aug... Is that one of the RARE! (L@@K!) late 60s solid-state amps? Is it a Libre?

How does it sound? I've never known anyone who had personal experience with one, though I've read about them...

yes it is.  I bought it for $200 from the bay a few months ago, then sold it to a friend.  It didn't come with the speakers.  Everything else was there.

Even the knobs.

As for the routing, I'll try to dig up a pic for you, betty.
