Thanks, Aug!  Hmmm, that's an interesting route.  I'll have to ponder that one.
One more guitar, then I'll practice!

Personally, I like the bronco trem...alot of folks don't because it's a pain to string, if you get a little crazy, you'll easily bump the tremplate down off the posts and jack up the tuning and they have a "jangle" sound to them.  Also, aside from the plate and dish, the other parts are nearly impossible to find.
Is that why they have that reputation of being "the worst guitar Fender ever made" ?

I think i read this as a selling argument on an ebay auction : you are bidding on a  Bronco, "the worst guitar Fender ever made" !  :D

I think that statement is from the Angela website. Steve calls it the "worst guitar fender ever made"... then says something like "Hi Ben Huija"  (or something like that).

Apparently Ben must be a friend of his who likes them or something....

Yep, regardless of the model of guitar, you just can't go wrong with blonde/tortoiseshell, says I!
The '51s body is thinner than a jazzmaster/Jaguar body.  About 1/4" thinner.  I don't think you can get a JM/Jag trem in one.  I've thought about it for my '51 too.  After measuring a AV jazzmaster trem route and making a pattern, I think there is only about 1/4" of wood left at the bottom of the route.  You could make it shallower,  but then I don't think the trem would work very well.  I could be wrong, though.

I've wondered about that!  But let me pose this question...  Does it affect the sound of the instrument, do you think, if the route for the trem goes the whole way through the body?  After all, that's how it is on a $trat ( I don't know why I have to spell that with a dollar sign, or if I have to, but it seems to be the thing to do here) and I could make a nice little cover for the rear trem route?  Whatcha think?
Sorry, by the way, this is on a Bronco thread.... :D

Just In!

The cavity required for a Jag/Jazz trem is 33mm and the Bronco body is 39mm...which leaves 5/16" of wood.  That Is Completely Do-Able.

Why didn't I think of that - that would work - I think.

Okay, back to "bronco talk"

I love the look of the bronco, just throw it into a bigger neck.
