Bridge cover

Post by Terry Wright » Fri Jan 05, 2007 4:17 pm

My 65 Jaguar came without a bridge cover. Were these all taken off and lost long ago? What are my chances of finding an original? Any thoughts about where to look?

They are not that rare.  They pop up on ebay every so often.

Repros can be had easily as well, for about 20 bucks.

Sorry about misspelling DINOSAUR.  I hope someone doesn't take off with one of those racist rants!!!

No problem.  I think you can get a Fender product, the same cover that comes with the AVRI.  I'm sure other companies make them too.

I'm not sure if a 1965 cover would still have the "lips" on the side.  If not, then a repro would look identical.

I'm pretty sure all "vintage" covers have the lips.  My latish '65 JM has a lips cover.  They sell on eBay in the $60-100 from what I've seen.  If you really want one, make a search for a jazzmaster, jaguar, and mustang bridge cover.  If you can find one lsited only for mustang's there is a good chance you may save a few bucks as they tend to be less popular.

If you don't mind a repro, Angela Music carries them . I picked up one for my Jazzmaster, fit was dead on . Looks good also.
