Show me custom colored Blocks and Binding!
...so I was sitting in a tire shop getting new tires put on my car and I was flipping through Conde Nast Traveler magazine a few months ago when they had a special on Asian countries. On one of the pages they had a little blurb about Japanese culture and by the paragraph discussing hip music forms there, there was a photo of three Japanese musicians on a sofa - two men and a woman and one of the guys wearing glasses in the back was strumming a sweet seafoam blocks and binding Jazzmaster. It looked so cool! Ever since then I have been hooked on their visuals - not sure why it took seeing that(or what band that was), but I really am digging that look now. So now, I would like you all to show me the cooles custom colored JMs with blocks and bindings. Something about that look with witchhat knobs has me really excited right now...
....maybe I'll try my hand at building a JM neck of blocks and binding soon....

Maybe not one of the more visually stunning colors, but here is my '66 in black:

Yup - that qualifies. I thought anything was custom colored ourtside of sunbrust but maybe that was just for the earlier Fenders. I'm also fascinated at the different logos that made it to the headstocks at that time - seems like a lot of variance.

Lovely.
That first LPB looks like it has Starcaster knobs or something?

That one is my black '66!! At first glance, I thought it looked a lot like it. Then I noticed that little piece of paper on the case, which came with mine. It is a signed document from a guitar shop in Australia stating that all parts were original. Then I noticed that little bit of white paint by the handle on the case... mine has it! That is kind of amazing! Do you by chance remember where that pic came from?!zhivago wrote: a few more....

I know! I first looked at it and thought, "Man, that looks just like mine." Then I took a closer look and it IS mine!zhivago wrote:
