So the tremolo arm Michael ordered for me arrived and I can't say I'm very impressed, to be honest. I'm used to the tremolo on my CIJ Jazzmaster and compared to that this one moves very very very very very very very (etc) stiff and heavy. Good for them subtle bends though, with the same force I can do Floyd-Rose-divebombs on the JM, I get very subtle vibrato out of this one.

Also, I messed around a bit with that screw on the collet, but I can't get the arm lower than in the next picture. I should bend the arm a bit, I guess? It gets really in the way when playing too in this way.

i think it looks normal. i really don't like how low the trem arm is set in a jm/jags because my hand doesn't fit. depends on every player though..

The Bronco trem never had a lot of travel, but the spring still has a lot to do with the overall feel. Try adjusting it a bit, it's the screw located behind the saddles.
When I first got mine, the trem was stiff and hardly useful at all but after some adjustment it was dandy. It now operates slightly easier than a floating strat bridge.

As for the angle of the arm... In the picture it hasn't been inserted properly. It's suppose to go in all the way to the bend (or just about anyway). It looks like an Allparts replacement, non? I just had a look, and the "collet" end on those are in fact slightly shorter than the origenal arm, I guessing a 1mm or two (got an example of both to compare), however the allparts one is ever so slightly wider. May well explain why you can't insert yours properly.

I'd suggest sanding it to make it narrower so i will pop in correctly. Or take the easy road an just bend the fucker.

play around with the screw to ajust the trem "action". they're not hard solid pieces, but quite versatile. not as much as the jag/jazzy but still.

get the best outta it!

I'll mess around with it a bit in a month or a so, I find it a bit stupid to do that with a set of brand new strings on it. Next to that, I'm not too bothered by it. Anyway, I also would like to put some '70s RI Tuners on it and I also think a new nut wouldn't be a very bad idea, so I'll do that all at once.

I've got no idea if the arm's one from Allparts, here's a link to the auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0237481613

This guitar sounds só heavenly with my '88 Rat! Man.... :?
