Jaguars with maple necks have always looked weird to me. At least the block inlays seem to balance it out though... it would look too weird with dot inlays.

John is the king of enablers. He's the guy telling the addicts that one more hit is ok and that hookers really aren't all that bad (despite the opportunity for STD's and a beligerant pimp). So therefore being a member here means being constantly bombarded with images (from John) that will make you desire things that only Doanld Trump (or Roman Abramovich for the Euro's) can afford. You'll cry a little, sweat a little, and probably even kick over a few grannies to get your hands one or more of these killer offsets. But don't worry, it effects us all. If it didn't we wouldn't be here.aen wrote: Why for you want make aen cry?

black blocks just don't work for me. I have an all original 75 jazz bass. It is natural finish with a black guard (original) mapple neck with pearl block markers and visually it is totally balanced. I have a mate who has a similar era Jazz bass, but it has black block markers and it just looks all wrong to me... like someone has taken a marker pen and coloured in the blocks... but he loves it
relaxing alternative to doing actual work ...

One of the more gorgeous Jag's I saw was a totally natural one with a black pickguard and a maple neck with black markers. I wish I still had the picture, when the Jaguar dressing room is up, I might have to throw one like that together.

Re: The maple neck + black blocks Jaguars thread.....
Just for fun, once I bolted a 76 Mustang maple/dot neck to a 62 sunburst Jag body and installed a white pickguard... a very un-conventional assortment of themes. But it looked good! I was toying with the idea of building it up that and doing some custom wiring, like the series mod and stuff. Alas, eventually the parts found their way onto different guitars and the idea died. But I still like that look, and may re-create it someday.Billy3000 wrote: Jaguars with maple necks have always looked weird to me. Edit: I found the pic. It's not a good pic, but here it is:

Do the maple capped neck Jags sound significantly different to the Rosewood jobbies?
